Artykuł prezentuje list ks. Szczepana Trochty, dyrektora domu salezjańskiego w Pradze, do Przełożonego Generalnego salezjanów ks. Piotra Ricardone w Turynie, wysłany po wyzwoleniu z KL Dachau. Ksiądz Trochta relacjonuje w nim swój trzyletni pobyt w niemieckich obozach zagłady, informuje przełożonego o losie innych salezjanów, którzy więzieni byli w KL Dachau. Ksiądz Szczepan Trochta w 1947 roku został mianowany biskupem litomierzyckim. W 1951 roku został przez władze komunistyczne internowany, a w 1953 roku skazany na 25 lat więzienia. W 1960 zwolniono go w wyniku amnestii. 24.IV.1969 roku został mianowany przez papieża Pawła VI kardynałem in pectore. Nominacja została ujawniona przez Stolicę Apostolską 5.III.1973 roku.

The paper presents a letter of Fr. Szczepan Trochta, rector of the Salesian house in Prague to the Rector Major, Fr Pietro Ricardone, sent to Turin after the liberation of the concentration camp in Dachau. Fr. Trochta reports in the letter about his three years’ long imprisonment in German extermination camps, and informs also about the fate of other Salesians who were held in KL Dachau. Fr. Szczepan Trochta was appointed bishop of Litoměřice in 1947. He was interned by the communist government in 1951 and in 1953 sentenced to 25 years of imprisonment. In 1960, he was released under amnesty. On 24 April 1969, Trochta was appointed cardinal in pectore by Pope Paul VI. This nomination was by the Holy See on 5 March 1973.

The article contains a theoretical study of the idea of the Salesian Oratory based on the quadruple metaphor of oratory as home, school, parish and backyard and empirical verification of its actual application in the educational practice of Salesians Sisters and Salesians Priests in Poland. The result of the analyses are the applications and proposals aimed at pastoral care of fidelity to the original upbringing style of Saint John Bosco, attempt to answer the signs of the times and adapting pastoral and educational activities to the needs of today’s youth.
