Blisko sześćdziesięcioletni dorobek wydawniczy Wojewódzkiej Biblioteki Publicznej w Opolu charakteryzuje się dużą wszechstronnością zarówno pod względem formy publikacji, jak i tematyki. Obejmuje publikacje bibliograficzne, informacyjne, poradnikowe, szkoleniowe, drukowane katalogi zbiorów oraz wydawnictwa towarzyszące wystawom, konferencjom i seminariom. Wiele książek wydanych przez opolską książnicę rejestruje aktualne wydarzenia społeczne, kulturalne, w szczególności literackie Opolszczyzny, a także przybliża wiedzę o historii regionu w związku z ogłaszaniem reprintów rzadkich druków śląskich. W artykule przedstawiono ową różnorodność działalności wydawniczej WBP w Opolu, podkreślając znaczenie publikowanych wydawnictw dla regionu opolskiego dawniej i dziś oraz prezentując konkretne tytuły wydawnicze zwarte i ciągłe.

The publishing output of the Voivodeship Public Library in Opole of almost sixty years is characterised by considerable versatility both as far as the form of the publications and their subject matter is concerned. It embraces bibliographical, informative, advice-related, training-oriented publications, printed catalogues of collections and publications which accompany exhibitions, conferences and seminars. Many of the books which were published by the Opole-based publisher register current social, cultural, and in particular literary events of the Opole region. The publisher familiarises the reader with the history of the region by republishing rare Silesiana. The purpose of the article is to present the variety of the publishing activities of the WBP in Opole, the significance of the publications for the Opole region in earlier and in recent times by making reference to specific serial and non-serial publications.
