From 19 to 23 September 2011 there was held in Newport XXVI Voorburg Group meeting on the service sector statistics. The group was founded at the initiative of Statistics Canada in 1986, in response to the demands of the UN as an informal forum for the support in the development of service sector statistics. Polish CSO participates in this group since 2006. Experience and knowledge gained in the group helped in clarifying the vision for the development of services sector statistics in Poland. The solutions used in other countries in this area allowed us to look differently than before on the tasks of the Office. Active participation in discussions and presentation of Polish experience in the group forum allowed for better preparation of sector studies, and also to seek new opportunities for their development. An important element of international cooperation in this regard will be the organisation of the next group meeting in 2012 in Warsaw. (original abstract)
