Kwestia finansowania działalności gospodarczej jest jednym z podstawowych warunków funkcjonowania i rozwoju przedsiębiorstwa. Literatura ekonomiczna podaje wiele możliwości pozyskiwania kapitału przez przedsiębiorcę, jednak faktyczna dostępność kapitału dla danego przedsiębiorcy zależy od wielu czynników. Sektor małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw w Polsce specyfikuje się m.in. stosunkowo niskim poziomem kapitałów własnych i prostą formą organizacyjną więc zakres możliwości finansowania działalności jest skromniejszy niż dla przedsiębiorstw dużych. Najpopularniejszym źródłem finansowania działalności przez polskie przedsiębiorstwa są kapitały własne. Rola kapitału zewnętrznego jednak systematycznie rośnie. Obok kredytów bankowych, coraz bardziej popularne staje się wykorzystanie instrumentów rynku kapitałowego, funduszy typu Venture Capital, leasingu, faktoringu, Forfaitingu. W artykule podjęto próbę analizy źródeł finansowania rozwoju małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw.

Funding is a fundamental issue in the activity and the prosperity of an enterprise. There are many possibilities of gaining of capital in the economic literature, in reality there are many access barriers. The small and medium-sized companies in Poland have low level of own capital and plain structure, that means there are less possibilities in financing of the company than in a large enterprise. The most popular source of financing for Polish companies is the own capital but the importance of the outward sources of financing is growing constantly. Not only the bank loans are popular now, there are many different implements like: Venture Capital, leasing, factoring, forfeiting. In the article an attempt of analysis of sources of financing the mentioned small and medium-sized enterprise was taken.
