The article tries to explain the presence among Norwid’s acquaintances of two people who had the extremely rare first name Heliodor (Heliodor Jankowski, Heliodor Rochlitz). It is also connected with Antoni Kątski’s opera Marcella, whose libretto was translated into Polish by Norwid, with the complicated fortunes of the Rochlitz family and name, and with the Unions for Social Peace (Unions de la paix sociale).
