The patrol crafts were very useful units used by Border Defence Troops in the polish border protection system on the Baltic Sea. This article presents the most important decisions which had an influence on the construction works of the patrol crafts type “9” and “912” in the period 1954–1966. This article also presents how the procedures which had an influence on the shipyards in PRL were complicated and especially in the Polish Navy Shipyard.

Okręty patrolowe były istotnym narzędziem służącym marynarzom WOP do ochrony granicy państwowej na Morzu Bałtyckim. Artykuł prezentuje najważniejsze decyzje, które miały wpływ na rozpoczęcie i budowę okrętów patrolowych projektu „9” i „912” dla tej formacji w latach 1954–1966. Ukazuje on także skomplikowane procedury, jakie wdrażano na różnych szczeblach decyzyjnych, wpływające na działalność stoczni w PRL, a w szczególności Stoczni MW.
