Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja zmian w międzynarodowym handlu azbestem na podstawie analizy eksportu i importu w latach 2002-2018. Źródłem danych statystycznych dla badanego okresu była baza danych handlowych TrendEconomy. Uzyskane wyniki pokazują, że w latach 2002-2018 światowy eksport i import azbestu wzrósł odpowiednio o 203,88% i 130,91%. Kraje transformujące się w głównej mierze zaspokajały światowy popyt na azbest, w tym Rosja, której udział w 2002 r. stanowił 62,0%, natomiast w 2018 r. 60,8%. Import azbestu przez kraje rozwinięte cechował się wyraźną tendencją zniżkową. W 2002 r. głównymi importerami okazały się kraje rozwijające się: Tajlandia i Chiny. W 2018 r. takimi krajami były Indie i Indonezja.

The purpose of the article is to identify changes in international trade of asbestos. The article analyses the export and import in the period 2002-2018. The source of statistical data for the analysed period was the TrendEconomy commercial database. The results show that in the years 2002-2018 the worlds export and import of asbestos increased by 203,88% and 130,91%. The transformation countries mainly exports of asbestos, including Russia, whose share in 2002 to 62,0%, while in 2018 60,8%. Import of asbestos by developed countries showed a downward trend. In 2002, the main importers were developing countries: Thailand and China. In 2018, such countries were India and Indonesia.
