Innovativeness activity of enterprises is stimulated by a number of factors which have their source inside the company or its surroundings. The aim of the article is to specify the determinants stimulating innovativeness of industrial enterprises in Poland, on the bases of survey research conducted among entrepreneurs. Factors which are perceived as the most favourable for the growth of innovativeness in industrial enterprises are: existing atmosphere of mutual trust between employees, especially executive employees, and managerial staff as well as possession of their own financial resources. The respondents emphasise the significant role of competition in stimulating innovativeness. Awareness of the enterprise concerning innovativeness activities of competing companies and market pressure on constant improving of products are perceived as other important stimulators of introducing of product and process innovations in industrial companies.(original abstract)

Dokonano jej na podstawie wskaźników stosowanych do oceny innowacyjności krajów UE, zawartych w raportach publikowanych przez Komisję Europejską w postaci tzw. tablic wyników w zakresie badań i innowacji (Innovation Union Scoreboard - IUS). Development based on knowledge and innovation is one of the main priorities of economic policy in the European Union (EU) countries. It was included in the Europe 2020 strategy, which obliged the EU countries to take measures to strengthen their innovation capacity. The effects of these activities are monitored using indicators to assess the ability of the economy to create and implement innovation and to assess the effects of innovative activity. The article presents an assessment of the degree of achievement of the objectives included in the Europe 2020 strategy for the development based on knowledge and innovation. The analysis used innovation indicators indicating the leaders. The analysis shows the ability to create knowledge and innovation and innovation activity of enterprises and its effects. Contemporary organizations recognize the importance of innovation, which is reflected in achieved results and the ability to create competitive advantage. Therefore managers, especially in large enterprises, seek for different sources of innovation, reaching also to the potential that lies in employees. This implies taking efforts in order to stimulate innovative behavior of employees in the organization. The aim of this paper is to present determinants of employees innovative behavior as a source of innovation, as well as to identify complex tools aimed at stimulating this type of behavior (i.e. innovation management practices). As numerous researches suggests, that the above mentioned practices take place primarily in large corporations, the subject of our analysis are selected practices of managing innovative employees in international corporations. The selection of the corporation for the analysis was based on the popular rankings of the most innovative companies, such as: "The World's Most Innovative Companies", "World's 100 Most Innovative Companies", "50 Most Innovative Companies" and "World's Most Innovative Companies".
