The author shares his view of future threats related to human activity. Whereas the natural disasters become more and more predictable, the future consequences of man's cognitive activity, discoveries and political ambition became threats, which should not be ignored. As the cognitive motive of exploration and technological advancement cannot be reduced or stopped by any social (international consensus), the consideration of accompanying risk should be enhanced. The awareness of the real benefits and potential losses included in technological aspirations becomes crucial for the welfare of the humanity.

Stable economic growth is impossible without creating system of state energetic security the point of the meter is complex of measures according to impact minimization of energetic security threats, such as: stability providing in energetic resources supplying, forming and supporting of rational pricing policy to energetic resources and minimization of energetic factors ecological impact. The main and almost choiceless way of state energetic security providing is diversification. The analysis of objective ways in energetic saving and its structure gave opportunity to outline main trends of energetic diversification, as geographical and also energetic resources, technologies, consumers etc.

Subjective determiners of treating the final secondary school examination as a threat

The article discusses the findings of the research carried out basing on the investigation procedure originating from the function-action approach to psychological defense developed by A. Senejko, where every reaction to threat can be considered as a defensive reaction. A nation-wide final secondary school examination was employed as the threat in the study and the reactions to such a threat were diagnosed twice: in January 2005 and two weeks before the exam in April 2005. The participants were 177 students of secondary schools (aged 18-19; 121 females and 52 males) of the Lower Silesian and Upper Silesian regions of Poland. In the she study two questionnaires were employed. Part one of The Psycho-Social and Psychic Defenses Questionnaire (PSPDQ) and the Questionnaire of Personal Judgements (QPJ) developed by Kinga Lachowicz-Tabaczek and Alicja Senejko for identifying the following psychological dispositions: self-esteem, social anxiety, depressiveness, obligation will, emotional reactivity, sensitivity, activity and endurance. The basic research questions concerned the effect which the diagnosed factors had on the two dimensions of the subjects' attitude to their final exam as a threat as well as how they influenced their reactions to it, that is their psychological defenses. The multiple regression analyzes showed that the two dimensions of the participants' approach to their exam as a threat were the most substantially influenced by endurance, self-esteem, gender and reactivity. However, the way the examinees reacted their exam was the most substantially influenced by their obligation will, depressiveness and endurance.

Changes in the adolescents' orientations towards the future and factors threatening them against systemic transformation

The purpose of the present study was to investigate adolescents' orientation towards the future (e.g. expectations and fears, their content and timing) and its relationship with the life conditions perceived. The developmental conditions set in the socio-economic context perceived by an adolescent are evaluated from the point of view of their significance for realization of the conception of individual's future.The study was carried out in three stages in the period of systemic transformation - between 1991 and 2005. The total number of 180 adolescents, aged 16 to 18 participated in the study. The main techniques were an essay on the subject 'Me and my future' and the psychological conversation on threats perceived by young people in the surrounding reality. The results contributed to the psychological knowledge on significance of the process of transformation of socio-economic system in Poland for the formation of adolescents' orientation to the future and indicated the tendencies of changes in the cultural prototype of development in the life cycle.

National information policy is an important component of foreign and domestic policy of the country and covers all areas of society. The rapid development of the information field is accompanied by fundamentally new security interests of the individual, society, the state and its national security. The components of the state information policy on information security and the basic activities of public authorities in this field are reviewed in the article. The internal and external information challenges facing Ukraine and ways of ensuring information security are analysed. Information security is seen as a component of national security, as well as a global problem of information security, information space, information sovereignty and information support decision-making. The proposed approach to ensure continuity of operation of the process of information security to monitor new threats, the risks and levels of intensity.

The article observes and systematizes the main approaches to define economic and energy security concepts, shows their peculiarities and specific features. The author’s definition of region economic and energy security is offered. The strategic direction and a variant for the national and regional economy innovative development within it, in the context its economic and energy security provision is determined. The innovative transformations perspectives are economically grounded in state and region, based on introduction and extension of the technologies to use solid biofuel. The system of motivating actions, oriented to speed up innovative processes in national energetic sector, at state and regional levels, are suggested.
