Transgressive Individual and Culture

100%
EN
The main subject of the paper is relationship between an individual and culture in transgressive theory, proposed by a Polish psychologist, Józef Kozielecki. In order to discern the essence of the relationship, a system of notions of transgressive psychology has been reconstructed, focusing especially on such an understanding of individual, culture, and society that is characteristic for this idea. This reconstruction leads to a view of an individual as an active, causative subject, innovative and creative, which is able to shape its personality as well as to influence its socio-cultural environment. In regard to this environment, special concern is put to those of its properties that make possible actualization of individuals' potential. Fact, that both culture and society have their particularities, quite independent from those of individuals' features, is stressed as well. These particularities not only allow activity of individuals, but also influence essentially its kind. Therefore, transgressive theory accepts the idea, that relationships between individual, culture, and society are not unilateral but interdependent.
