Der Beitrag ist ein Versuch der komplexen Interpretation des Romans Der Kameramörder von Thomas Glavinic. Der in ihm dargestellte Mord von zwei Kindern und die damit verbundene Ermittlung beeindrucken mit Gewalt und Grausamkeit, wobei die beliebtesten, vom Autor ausgenutzten Mittel Irritation und absurde Anspannung sind. Der Text ist in zwei Teile gegliedert. Im ersten wird die traditionelle, nahe liegende Interpretation aufgenommen, in der Nachdruck auf die Sprache gelegt wird. Im zweiten Teil erscheint eine alternative Auslegung: trotz allem, was die Handlung scheinbar suggeriert, der Erzähler war kein Täter, sondern einer von vielen Schuldträgern. Demzufolge werden soziale und mediale Aspekte der Interpretation betont.

The paper is an attempt for a complex interpretation of Thomas Glavinic’s novel Der Kameramörder. The murder of two children depicted in there impresses with signs of violence and cruelty, while author’s beloved persuasive figures are irritation and absurd intensifying of suspense. The paper is composed of two parts. In the first of them the priority is given to a traditional interpretation who suggests itself at once, a pure literary one, where emphasis is put on language. In the second part an alternative interpretation is underlined: despite the apparent suggestions of the plot the narrator wasn’t the perpetrator but one of many possible offenders. Thus the weight of interpretation is moved towards medial and social aspects.

Artykuł stanowi próbę kompleksowej interpretacji powieści Thomasa Glavinica Der Kameramörder [Morderca z kamerą]. Przedstawione w niej morderstwo dwojga dzieci i związany z nim proces śledczy epatują znakami przemocy i okrucieństwa, przy czym ulubionymi środkami perswazyjnymi wykorzystywanym przez autora są irytacja i absurdalne wzmaganie napięcia. Tekst podzielony jest na dwie części. W pierwszej z nich podjęta zostaje interpretacja tradycyjna, nasuwająca się w pierwszej kolejności, interpretacja czysto literaturoznawcza, w której główny nacisk położony jest na język. W części drugiej do głosu dochodzi wykładnia alternatywna: wbrew temu, co pozornie nasuwa akcja utworu, narrator nie był sprawcą, lecz jednym z wielu możliwych winowajców. Tym samym ciężar interpretacji zostaje przesunięty na aspekty medialne i społeczne.
