The purpose of this article is to analyze and assess the lobbying activities of trans-national corporations. The essence of the study is to draw attention to the conditions of the assessment of ethical lobbying in view of the different standards of individual coun-tries. In the first part of the article the importance of lobbying in building a competitive position was discussed - the strategies and methods of lobbying. In the second part the diversity of perceptions of lobbying in the European and the U.S. systems was highlight-ed, and the consequences of this fact for the assessment of ethical action. In the last part development of the methods of corporate lobbying in the direction of the so-called par¬ticipatory model was indicated. This can be seen as an evidence of a change in relations between the state - business.

We współczesnej gospodarce korporacje transnarodowe przodują zarówno w prowadzeniu prac badawczo-rozwojowych (B+R), jak i w procesie wdrażania i rozprzestrzeniania rozwiązań innowacyjnych. W artykule podjęto próbę ukazania efektów ekonomicznych związanych z inwestycjami bezpośrednimi, które znajdują swe odzwierciedlenie w procesie dyfuzji technologii, wiedzy i umiejętności właśnie przez korporacje transnarodowe. Wyniki badania ankietowego określają zakres oddziaływania kapitału zagranicznego w formie bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych na budowanie potencjału konkurencyjnego regionu w zakresie poruszanych w badaniu aspektów.

In the modern economy, transnational corporations are leading both in conducting research and development (R&D) as well as in the process of implementation and dissemination of innovative solutions. The article attempts to show the economic effects associated with direct investments, which are reflected in the process of diffusion of technology, knowledge and skills by transnational corporations. The results of the questionnaire survey determine the scope of the impact of foreign capital in the form of direct foreign investments on building the region’s competitive potential in terms of the aspects discussed in the study.

W XXI wieku najcenniejszymi zasobami są wiedza oraz myśl techniczna. Podmiotami współczesnych międzynarodowych stosunków gospodarczych, które odgrywają dominującą rolę na globalnym rynku badawczo-rozwojowym (B+R) są korporacje transnarodowe (KTN). Nakłady na B+R niektórych KTN przewyższają wydatki na innowacje wielu państw. Do niedawna firmy międzynarodowe lokowały funkcje B+R przede wszystkim w krajach rozwiniętych, jednak na sile przybiera nowy trend globalizacji pod wpływem KTN polegający na ekspansji jednostek B+R firm międzynarodowych na kraje rozwijające się. Celem artykułu jest prezentacja wyników analizy tendencji rozwojowych w zakresie lokalizacji działalności B+R KTN w latach 2013-2014. KTN poszukują nowych lokalizacji dla realizowanych projektów B+R w efekcie zmian jakościowych w otoczeniu międzynarodowym. Zasoby niezbędnych talentów są coraz częściej dostępne w krajach rozwijających się. Mimo wzrostu udziału owych krajów w globalnych sieciach badawczych KTN zjawisko to dotyczy niewielu spośród tych państw.

The most valuable resources of the 20th century are knowledge and technical thought. Transnational corporations (TNCs) are the entities that play a dominant role in the global research and development (R&D) market. R&D expenditures of some TNCs outweigh innovation spending of many countries. Until recently, foreign R&D investment TNCs were directed primarily to developed countries, but there has been observed a new trend of globalization under the influence of TCNs. This is the expansion of R&D units of multinationals to developing countries. The aim of the paper is to present analysis results of trends which relate to R&D foreign location of TNCs in 2013-2014. TNCs look for new locations for their R&D activity as an effect of quality changes on the international market. Needed talents can be found in developing countries. Despite the increase in the share of developing countries in global research TNCs networks, very few of these countries are engaged in it.

Przedmiotem opracowania są efekty BIZ na rynku pracy w Polsce, w szczególności efekt ilościowy w dziedzinie zatrudnienia (liczba miejsc pracy). Próbowano rozpoznać zależność między napływem kapitału z tytułu bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych w Polsce a zatrudnieniem w badanym okresie. W artykule przedstawiono w różnych aspektach krótką, empiryczną charakterystykę spółek z kapitałem zagranicznym w Polsce. Zestawiono dynamikę powstawania spółek z kapitałem zagranicznym z dynamiką zatrudnienia. Problem przedstawiono też w ujęciu regionalnym. Wyniki przeprowadzonej analizy wskazują na niejednoznaczny wpływ bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych na kształtowanie się poziomu i struktury zatrudnienia w Polsce w badanym okresie. W różnych latach tego okresu efekt ilościowy w dziedzinie zatrudnienia był różny.

The subject of the study are the effects of FDI on the labour market in Poland, in particular, quantity effect on employment (number of workplaces). The author attempted to recognize the correlation between the inflow of capital for foreign direct investments in Poland and employment in the analyzed period. The article presents the various aspects of the brief, empirical characteristics of companies with foreign capital in Poland. The dynamics of the establishment of companies with foreign capital has been compiled with the dynamics of employment. The problem has been presented also by the regional embrace. The results of the analysis indicate ambiguous impact of foreign direct investment on the level and structure of employment in Poland in the analyzed period. The quantitative effect of employment was different in various years of this period.

Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie istoty transnarodowości oraz próba wykazania, że stanowi ona jedno z kluczowych zjawisk determinujących kształt współczesnej gospodarki światowej. Tezą artykułu jest twierdzenie, że podejście transnarodowe wykorzystywane jest przez najbardziej zaawansowane rozwojowo struktury organizacyjne na poziomie makro- i mikroekonomicznym, co sprawia, że transnarodowość determinuje relacje międzynarodowe. W pierwszej części artykułu zaproponowano teoretyczno-metodologiczne ujęcie koncepcji transnarodowości. W części drugiej przedstawiono podobieństwa w zachowaniach podmiotów na poziomie makro- i mikroekonomicznym, wskazujące na systematyczny rozwój organizacji transnarodowych we współczesnej gospodarce. Podsumowaniem badań jest próba zwrócenia uwagi na wymóg wzbogacenia metod analitycznych w związku z rozwojem systemów transnarodowych – odwołanie się do metodologii Grounded Theory Method oraz foresightu jako możliwości ustalenia czynników determinujących modele rozwojowe we współczesnej gospodarce światowej.

The aim of the article is to present the essence of the transnationality and an attempt to demonstrate that transnationality is one of the key phenomena that determines the shape of the modern world economy. The thesis of the article is that transnational approach should be used today both for analysis relating to processes at the macro- and microeconomic levels. The first part of the article proposes a theoretical and methodological framework to the concept of transnationality. The second part presents the similarities in the behavior of subjects at the macro- and microeconomic levels as evidence of the growing role of transnational organizations (using the transnational approach) in today's economy. The summary of the study is an attempt to draw attention to the requirement of change in analytical methods, in connection with the development of transnational systems – reference to Grounded Theory Method and foresight as a means of establishing the factors determining the models of development in modern global economy.
