Inland navigation in Germany uses the financial support programs in such areas as the fleet modernization, trans- shipment device building for combined transport, research and development, including subsidizing low-emission engines, subsidizing fleet modernization and the pilot program of new technologies implementation in inland navigation and subsidizing the implementation of the AIS: Automatic Identification System, as well as workforce development.
