Turcja i Iran, przy udziale innych państw zachodnich, starają się kontrolować rozwój wydarzeń w regionie Bliskiego Wschodu. Wiadomo, że jeśli chodzi o wydarzenia w krajach arabskich, których początek miał miejsce w Tunezji, następnie przeniosły się do Egiptu i Libii, Turcja śledzi je z niepokojem. Podobnie jak państwa zachodnie, Turcja podziela niepokój, że wydarzenia mające miejsce w państwach tego regionu mogą być przyczyną osłabienia stosunków między Zachodem a krajami bliskowschodnimi. Turcja, będąc członkiem NATO, jest też jednym z państw kandydujących do UE. Ponadto utrzymuje strategiczne stosunki z Ameryką i państwami europejskimi. Ze względu na strategiczne położenie Turcji, Zachód wiąże nadzieje, że będzie ona odgrywała istotną rolę w kształtowaniu się politycznej przyszłości tych krajów.

Turkey and Iran, with participation of other western states, try to control the development of events in the region of Middle East. It is known that as for the events in the Arab countries, the onset of which had taken place in Tunisia, next they moved to Egypt and Libya, Turkey has been watching them with anxiety. Like the western states, Turkey shares the anxiety that the events taking place in the states of the region may be the reason for weakening relationships between the West and the Middle East countries. Turkey, being a member of NATO, is also one of the candidate states to access the EU. Moreover, it has been maintaining strategical relationships with America and European states. Due to the strategical location of Turkey, the West does hope that it will play an important role in formation of the political future of these countries.
