Artykuł zawiera rozważania dotyczące teoretycznego znaczenia kategorii bezpieczeństwa i poczucia bezpieczeństwa na gruncie socjologii. Pojęcia te są wykorzystywane w teoriach dotyczących różnych poziomów organizacji rzeczywistości społecznej. Krótko zostały omówione przykłady takich zastosowań: a) w implikacjach koncepcji „społeczeństwa ryzyka” U. Becka; b) jako kategoria łącząca działania jednostkowe i własności systemu społecznego w koncepcji M. Marody oraz c) jako pojęcia przydatne do charakterystyki pewnych aspektów porządku interakcyjnego w ujęciu E. Goffmana.

The article addresses the theoretical importance of the category of safety and a sense of safety in sociology. These concepts are used in theories referring to different levels of social reality. The paper contains a brief discussion on (a) implications of U. Beck’s concept of the ‘risk society’; (b) usage of these concepts as a link between individual actions and social system attributes in M. Marody’s conception; (c) as constructs useful in characterizing certain aspects of the interaction order by E. Goffman.

Im Artikel stelle ich das Problem der sozialen Verantwortung der Unternehmen am Beispiel der Rechtskanzleien dar. Der sozialen Verantwortung dieser Unternehmen liegt das Konzept zugrunde, nach dem sie beim Aufbau der Strategie freiwillig sowohl soziale Interessen und den Umweltschutz als auch Beziehungen mit unterschiedlichen Gruppen der Interessenten berücksichtigen. Dieser Auffassung gemäß bedeutet die Verantwortung, so die Hauptthese des Artikels, nicht nur Erfüllung aller formellen und rechtlichen Anforderungen durch die Rechtsfirmen, sondern auch gesteigerte Investitionen in menschliche Ressourcen, in den Umweltschutz und in die Beziehungen mit den Interessenten, die einen tatsächlichen Einfluss auf die Effizienz der Wirtschaftstätigkeit solcher Unternehmen und ihre Innovationskraft haben können. Ich mache auch darauf aufmerksam, dass die Berücksichtigung der sozialen Verantwortung der Unternehmen bereits im Stadium der Strategiegestaltung einer Rechtsfirma und ihres Einflusses auf die Entwicklung der geplanten Unternehmungen notwendig ist.

This article presents the issue of corporate social responsibility (CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility) on the basis of select of law firms. Corporate social responsibility of such companies are founded on the principle that during the process of developing a business strategy they voluntarily take into account the interests of society and the environment, but also complex relationships with various stakeholders. The article is underpinned by the idea that being responsible means not only conforming to all the formal and legal obligations on the part of law firms but also sustaining increased investment in human resources, in environmental protection, and in relationships with stakeholders, all of which can have a palpable impact on the efficiency of economic ventures and businesses as well as on their inventiveness. The paper also emphasises the need to consider the concept of corporate social responsibility at the very initial stage of shaping any law firm’s strategy and its ensuing impact on future undertakings.

Artykuł prezentuje zagadnienia dotyczące społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu (z ang. CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility) na przykładzie kancelarii prawnych. Społeczna odpowiedzialność biznesu takich przedsiębiorców opiera się na koncepcji, według której na etapie budowania strategii dobrowolnie uwzględniają oni interesy społeczne i ochronę środowiska, ale także relacje z różnymi grupami interesariuszy. Artykuł przedstawia główny wniosek, że według takiego podejścia, bycie odpowiedzialnym nie oznacza tylko spełniania przez firmy prawnicze wszystkich wymogów formalnych i prawnych, ale oprócz tego także zwiększone inwestycje w zasoby ludzkie, w ochronę środowiska i relacje z interesariuszami, którzy mogą mieć faktyczny wpływ na efektywność działalności gospodarczej takich organizacji oraz ich innowacyjność. W artykule zwracam też uwagę na konieczność uwzględnienia koncepcji społecznej odpowiedzialności biznesu już na etapie kształtowania strategii firmy prawniczej oraz jej wpływu na rozwój planowanych przedsięwzięć.
