This paper describes the analysis of the mythopoiesis of the technological changes that has been worked out by Giambattista Vico in 'The New Science' and by Marshall McLuhan in most of his works. The author outlines the influence of Vico's early historicism on the understanding of culture in McLuhan's thought.
