'Vocation' and 'pastoral work' are the two key terms that determine the character and activity of the Church. Vocational chaplaincy belongs to the nature of the Church and should be one of its main aspects. It illustrates the idea of the Church as a Mother, constantly opening itself to God's intention to give birth to new life within it. The vocational character of the Church is expressed in the very etymology of the word 'Ecclesia', which means 'the congregation of the chosen' (by Jesus). John Paul II called the Church mysterium vocationis. The mystery of ecclesiastical vocation is being revealed and fulfilled in pastoral work, which is an organized activity. Its main aspects are preaching the Word of God, administering of the sacraments, living in a religious community and being witnesses of Christian life. Thus the very idea of pastoral work is dei ned by its vocational character.

Christocentrism is now one of the most widespread ideas in moral theology, allowing a coherent definition of the issues of moral life. The personalistic character of Christocentrism indicates the necessity of defining Christian morality in the perspective of the first person, owing to which a Christian not so much is directed by some outer law written down outside him, as searches for the true good, according to the principle of being open to the truth that is written in his conscience. A bond with Christ may be formed on the plane of motivation that results from undertaking the task of following, from the ontic rootedness as a new creature and on the basis of identification of one's aim with the aspiration that is in Christ. The „Chris¬ to-form" of human life gives a man a new identity and opens him to participation in the Trinitarian life. The biblical ideas that define the personalistic dimension of Christocentrism most fully, are the idea of vocation and the idea of the New Covenant, which have been given a significant place in Polish moral theology. Pointing to a dynamic and responsorial character of Christian morality these ideas allow an integral definition of the phenomenon of aspiration to perfection in love that is at the same time a fullness of personal life.

The history of mankind proceeds as well as the human history of salvation through the family. Therefore provides the family the first among the many paths of the Church and in many ways the best way. Even if someone has chosen single life, the family remains his existential horizon as the community. Obviously, the most important task of the family is to understand the concept of parenting in a deeper sense. In this article main problem is that the parents realizing the divine call, must be aware what consequences arise from this for the education. First, how the Christian vocation is to be understood in general before reference to a life of marriage and family. Subsequently, it was explained that the vocation to a life of marriage and the family is a gift and a task. However, the last point refers to the parental love, which can find their expression in very different ways than maternal or paternal love.

The changes occurring in our society on the religious plane result, among others, in a decline of priestly vocations. Hence the need of cooperation between the family, priests and the people who are responsible for the vocations is of prime importance, so that a young man to whom Christ turns with the call 'Follow me' can be aided in his response to this call. Through a Christian atmosphere of its life, through an everyday testimony of faith and religious life the family helps one be formed, develop and become mature in his priestly vocation. The significance of the parents' agreement to the son's decision about entering the seminary as well as the attitude of support that the parents and other members of the family should assume and show the called one on the spiritual, moral or emotional plane, so that Christ's invitation would not prove in vain, is also stressed in the article.

The term 'vocation' may be understood in many different ways, and in Christianity, most generally, calling a man by God to lead a certain way of life or to perform certain tasks, is defined in this way. Forming the calling, or vocation, although it is a distinct activity, is also closely connected with other aims and tasks of Christian education realized in catechesis. This means that in order to understand and to realize the calling that God directs to a Christian, formation is significant that touches all the dimensions or spheres that are distinguished in the structure of a man as a person; with activities connected with moral education of a child, with prayer and the practice of love, and with manifold forms of education in faith having immediate significance. These questions are at the foundations of setting tasks to modern catechesis that not only aims at making it possible for the catechized one to assimilate faith, but forms the proper attitude of a Christian life and stimulates the fruit of sanctity.
