Celem artykułu jest wyznaczenie syntetycznego wskaźnika pomiaru funkcji turystycznej obszarów na podstawie metody TOPSIS. Do jego konstrukcji wykorzystano wartości wskaźników odpowiednio zakodowane w pięciostopniowej skali wartości czterech wskaźników funkcji turystycznej: Deferta, Schneidera, Baretje’a-Deferta oraz gęstości bazy noclegowej. Zaproponowany wskaźnik zastosowano do oceny poziomu rozwoju funkcji turystycznej wybranych powiatów Polski, które w roku 2014 zajęły czołowe miejsca w rankingu GUS pod względem atrakcyjności turystycznej.

The aim of the article is to determine the synthetic indicator measuring the function of the tourist areas, based on TOPSIS method. For its construction were used appropriately coded values of the four indicators of tourist function: Defert, Schneider, Baretje-Defert and the density of accommodation. The proposed indicator was used to assess the level of development of the tourist function of selected of Polish districts which in 2014 occupied the top places in the ranking of GUS with respect of the tourist attractiveness.
