XXI wiek przyniósł znaczące zmiany w otoczeniu przedsiębiorstw konkurujących na rynku. Zmiany te są związane przede wszystkim ze zwiększeniem znaczenia zasobów niematerialnych w prowadzonej działalności. Niestety nie wszystkie zasoby niematerialne są ujmowane jako wartości niematerialne i prawne oraz ujawniane w bilansie. W artykule przedstawiono ograniczenia w ujawnianiu zasobów niematerialnych, związane z aktualnym brzmieniem definicji składnika aktywów.

XXI century has brought significant changes in the business environment competing in the market. These changes are mainly due to an increase in the importance of intangible assets in the business. Unfortunately, not all intangible resources are recognized as intangible assets and disclosed in the balance sheet. The study presents limitations on the disclosure of intangible resources associated with the current wording of the definition of an asset.
