W artykule omówiono historię i współczesne funkcjonowanie kilku chorwackich bibliotek - w Zadarze i Splicie: Biblioteki Uniwersytetu w Zadarze, Biblioteki Naukowej w Zadarze, zadarskiej Miejskiej Biblioteki Publicznej, Biblioteki Uniwersytetu w Splicie oraz Miejskiej Biblioteki im. Marka Marulića w Splicie. Zwrócono uwagę m.in. na oryginalne inicjatywy aktywizacji czytelniczej i edukacji informacyjnej oraz cyfrowe udostępnianie zbiorów.

The article presents the history and current functioning of several Croatian libraries: University Library in Zadar, Research Library of Zadar, Zadar Public Library, Split University Library and Marco Marulić Split City Library. The authors draw attention to original initiatives of readership, information literacy and digital resource sharing.
