This year, 2013, marks the 35th anniversary of the death of Dr. Zygmunt Wdowiszewski (1894-1978), an employee of the Central Archives of Historical Records and renowned expert in genealogy and heraldry. Wdowiszewski’s scientific publications include subjects of archival sciences, diplomatics, sigillography and especially genealogy. During several years of work in AGAD he managed to collect archival material that was used for publication of edition of the sources, articles and books, among others monumental The Jagiellons Genealogy (Warsaw, 1968). Wdowiszewski gathered materials for his publications during the queries run in archives and libraries in Poland, as well as, in Austria, Czechoslovakia, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. He actively acted in the Polish Heraldic Society, co-editored the journal "Monthly Heraldic" and was the member of Editorial Board of "Numismatic News". The most significant publications of Wdowiszewski’s employment at the Central Archives of Historical Records (1923-1935) include: Unknown Heraldic Records (Krakow 1926), The Bogorias Family in the Middle Ages (Krakow 1928) and Ancestors of Kazimierz Wielki (Warsaw 1936).

W 2013 r. mija 35 rocznica śmierci doc. dr Zygmunta Wdowiszewskiego (1894-1978), pracownika Archiwum Głównego Akt Dawnych oraz wybitnego znawcy genealogii i heraldyki. Dorobek naukowy Wdowiszewskiego obejmował obok archiwistyki, dyplomatykę, sfragistykę i przede wszystkim genealogię. W czasie kilkunastoletniej pracy w AGAD zdołał zebrać materiał archiwalny, który posłużył mu do przygotowania edycji źródłowych, artykułów i książek, m. in. pomnikowej Genealogii Jagiellonów (Warszawa 1968). Materiały do swych publikacji Wdowiszewski gromadził podczas kwerend prowadzonych w archiwach i bibliotekach w Polsce, a także w Austrii, Czechosłowacji, Niemczech, Szwajcarii i Włoszech. Wdowiszewski był działaczem Polskiego Towarzystwa Heraldyczne, współredaktorem czasopisma „Miesięcznik Heraldyczny” oraz członkiem redakcji „Wiadomości Numizmatycznych”. Do ważniejszych publikacji opublikowanych podczas pracy Wdowiszewskiego w AGAD (1923-1935) należą: Nieznane zapiski heraldyczne (Kraków 1926), Ród Bogoriów w wiekach średnich (Kraków 1928) oraz Wywód przodków Kazimierza Wielkiego (Warszawa 1936).
