Głównym celem opracowania jest zbadanie roli i znaczenia kategorii zysku całkowitego w kształtowaniu rentowności kapitału własnego giełdowych spółek akcyjnych1. Wiodącym nurtem badań teoretyczno-empirycznych jest próba weryfikacji hipotezy stwierdzającej występowanie zróżnicowanych efektów poznawczych analizy rentowności kapitału własnego z wykorzystaniem zysku całkowitego i zysku netto. W celu weryfikacji empirycznej powyższej hipotezy badawczej badaniem zostały objęte spółki notowane na GPW w Warszawie z indeksu WIG30. Diagnoza ta została przeprowadzona na podstawie kwartalnych sprawozdań finansowych z lat 2009-2014.

The main purpose of this study was to examine the role and importance of the comprehensive income in the forming of the return on equity of listed companies. The major subject of the theoretical-empirical study was to test of the general research hypothesis that stipulated the existence of different effects of analysis of return on equity using the comprehensive income and net profit, and the existence of different management decisions. The research comprised joint-stock companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange and included in WIG-30 Index. Empirical data for the study was obtained from the quarterly financial statements (the period from 2009 to 2014).
