Pełnienie funkcji wolontariusza medycznego w hospicjum jest związane z posiadaniem bardzo specyficznych umiejętności. Z jednej strony są to umiejętności praktyczne, związane z pielęgnacją terminalnie chorego, z drugiej zaś predyspozycje psychologiczne. Należą tu: dojrzałość osobowa charakteryzująca się między innymi znajomością siebie, świadomością własnego stosunku do śmierci ogólnie, do śmierci bliskich osób i do śmierci własnej, odpowiedni poziom zdrowia psychicznego pozwalający na pomaganie innym w sytuacji granicznej jaką jest umieranie, jak również towarzyszenie w umieraniu komuś najbliższemu. Przygotowanie nowych wolontariuszy odbywa się na kursie wolontariuszy, po nim odbywają się rozmowy z psychologiem oraz koordynatorem zespołu wolontariuszy. Rozmowy te mają na celu poznanie predyspozycji konkretnego kandydata do pełnienia funkcji wolontariusza medycznego, czyli wolontariusza pracującego przy chorym terminalnie w domu lub też na oddziale stacjonarnym. Artykuł przybliża w jaki sposób odbywa się weryfikacja wolontariuszy w Hospicjum św. Łazarza w Krakowie. Zostanie ona zaprezentowana na podstawie przykładowych jej wyników i wniosków z ostatnich trzech naborów do zespołu wolontariuszy.

Performing medical volunteer function in hospice is connected with the having very specific skills. Practical skills are this from one side, connected with nurturing patient of hospice. From second meanwhile certain psychological predispositions are this. First personal maturity being characterizing among others the acquaintance oneself, the consciousness of the own relation to the death generally, to close persons death and to the own death. Earlier meanwhile certain the level of the psychical health allows to help different in the border situation what there is dying, how also accompanying in dying someone the closest. Certain practical knowledge is presented and verified at them in the course of preparation of the new volunteers of hospice. This is holds within the volunteers course. After the course meanwhile conversations are hold with psychologist and the coordinator of volunteers team. Conversations these have on the aim distinguishing predispositions of the concrete candidate to performing the medical volunteer function, that is the working volunteer near ill in the hospice at the home or also on the stationary department. The article shows how volunteers verification is holds in Hospitium st. Lazar in Cracow. This verification will be presented on basis of example her results and conclusions from last three recruitments to volunteers team conducted within two last two years.
