Everyday aestheticians have had relatively little to say about literature. Inspired by Peter Kivy’s philosophy of literature as laid out in his books The Performance of Reading and Once-Told Tales, I examine reading literature as a part of everyday life. I argue that not only do Kivy’s views help explain the value that avid readers place on their daily silent engagement with a book, but that his philosophy of literature also shows how literary works can have an aesthetic presence in our everyday lives even during periods in-between reading a book. In light of the paper, literary reading turns out to be an artistic routine that fills avid readers’ everyday lives in a very literal sense.

В тексте освещается проблема эстетики мемов и мемов комиксов, которые стали одной из наиболее выразительных тенденций организации высказывания в сети и популярным инструментом самовыражения в определенных сообществах киберкультуры. Наблюдение за объектами в коммуникативной среде позволило выявить явления эстетики повседневности в широком спектре, включающем происхождение объектов, номинации, идентификацию знаков, мотивы, социальные и культурно-коммуникативные практики коммуникантов, формы проявления экспрессивности, а также прагматику и функциональность единиц в глобальном пространстве, в польском и российском сегменте интернета.

W tekście podjęto rozważania dotyczące estetyki memów obrazkowych i komiksowych, które stały się jednym z bardziej wyrazistych trendów organizacji wypowiedzi w sieci i powszechnym narzędziem wyrażania ekspresji w określonych wspólnotach cyberkultury. Obserwacja obiektów w środowisku komunikacyjnym pozwoliła wyłonić zjawiska estetyki codzienności w szerokim spektrum, obejmującym genezę obiektów, nominacje jednostek, identyfikację znaku, motywy, zachowania społeczne i praktyki kulturowo-komunikacyjne, formy wyrazu ekspresji, pragmatykę i funkcjonalność jednostek w przestrzeni globalnej oraz polskim i rosyjskim segmencie internetu.

In the article the author discusses the aesthetics of image and comix memes, which are regarded as one of the most indicative trends of organizing the utterance in the net and the most popular mean of expressing oneself in certain communities of cyberculture. Observations of these objects in the communicative environment allowed to identify a wide range of issues connected to aesthetics of everyday life such as: the genesis of the objects, nominations of the units, identification of the sign, motives, social behaviour and cultural and communicative practices, forms of self expression and pragmatical functionality of the units in global space and in Polish and Russian segments of the Internet.
