Miejsca występowania sowy to leśne gęstwiny, bagna, wierzby, dęby, drogi, garby, krzyże. Niezwykłe relacje wiążą sowę z kukułką, wróblem, wroną, dzięciołem, sokołem, błotniakiem i pójdźką zwyczajną.

The research on the mythical semantics of the owl as an element of ornithological code of Belarusian folklore have ascertained that basic modes of this image include chtonic, demonic, womanish opening. They are rarely connected with the positive pole of key Christian opposition in its folk interpretation. The places of location of the owl are dense forests, wetlands, a pussy-willow, an oak, a road, a hump, a church cross. The special relations connect an owl with a cuckoo, a sparrow, a raven (a crow), a woodpecker, a falcon, a harrier and a little owl.
