The local environment is a significant place of learning for adults. Adult education is clearly connected with the adult’s level of activity in his or her environment, due to which socialcultural animation, thanks to its close relationship with social activation, has become the subject of this article. Animation is currently a very popular method of work in local environments, but such activities are not preceded by in-depth diagnostic work. In the article the method for constructing a local environment diagnosis to make it as clearly related to animation activities is considered.
