Tradycje konceptualizacji śmierci w etnograficznej komunikacji respondenckiej z powiatu augustowskiego

Przedmiotem badań są ludowe wyobrażenia kulturowe z zakresu antropologii śmierci. Zostały one zarejestrowane w etnograficznej komunikacji respondenckiej w północno-wschodniej Polsce na terenie powiatu augustowskiego. Analizy sytuują się w metodologicznym paradygmacie nauk o komunikacji społecznej, w kręgu zainteresowań antropologii lingwistycznej. W procesie badawczym komunikowanych treści antropotanatologicznych zastosowano metodę antropologicznej hermeneutyki tekstu. Wyniki badań potwierdziły hipotezy etnologów oraz antropologów języka: a) folklor cechuje się silnym lękiem antropotanatologicznym, b) formy językowe odzwierciedlają światopogląd wspólnoty komunikatywnej, c) ludowa antropologia śmierci jest dowodem uniwersalności myślenia mitologicznego, d) mitologizacja jest formą neutralizacji lęku przed śmiercią w etnograficznej komunikacji respondenckiej, e) antropotanatologia ludowa cechuje się określonymi regułami kulturowo-językowymi, f) źródła kulturowe antropotanatologii okolic Augustowa mają rodowód indoeuropejski.

The subject of this research are folk cultural ideas in the field of death anthropology. They were observed in ethnographic respondent communication of Augustów county, in North-East Poland. The analysis is based on the methodological paradigm of the sciences of social communication and linguistic anthropology. In the research proces of communicated anthropotanatological content, the method of anthropological hermeneutics of the text was applied. The results confirmed the flollowing hypotheses of ethnologists and language anthropologists: a) folklore is characterized by a strong anthropotanatological anxiety, b) language forms reflect the worldview of the communicative community, c) folk death anthropology is proof of the universality of mythological thinking, d) mythologization is a form of neutralization of fear of death in respondent communication, e) folk anthropotanatology is characterized by specific cultural and linguistic rules, f) cultural sources of anthropotanatology of the area of Augustów have an Indo-European origin.

Anthropology of deathin the works by Dmitrii Merezhkovskii Death-related images and thoughts belong to key motives in the works by Dmitrii Merezhkovskii. Biological and metaphysical aspects of death appear to be the most important issues in the analyzed texts. By means of placing plots and themes in various epochs Merezhkovskii revealed the universality of the fear of death and its importance as far as shaping human conscience is concerned. In fictional and essayistic texts either, the Russian writer stressed the importance of the attitude to the dead body, funeral ceremonies and graveyards. That motif focuses value-orientations and patterns of culture specific for various communities. Merezhovskii reveals mutual interdependence between death and culture: on one hand — death inspires to express the essence of human nature in cultural forms, on the other hand — death is considered a tool used in order to achieve ideological and political goals.

Antropologia śmierciw twórczości Dymitra Mierieżkowskiego Śmierć to jeden z kluczowych motywów twórczości Dymitra Mierieżkowskiego. Wśród różnych obrazów śmierci i myśli o niej w omawianych tekstach istotną rolę odgrywają rozważania o biologicznych i metafizycznych aspektach śmierci. Uniwersalność doświadczenia lęku tanatologicznego i jego znaczenie dla formowania świadomości człowieka podkreślana jest przez arty­styczne ujęcia ulokowane w kulturowej przestrzeni różnych epok. W utworach beletrystycznych i eseistycznych Mierieżkowskiego szczególne znaczenie mają fragmenty prezentujące rozmaite podejścia do martwego ciała, ceremonii pogrzebowych i cmentarzy. Motywy te ogniskują charakterystyczne dla różnych zbiorowości orientacje wartościujące i wzory kultury. Między śmiercią i kulturą, jak pokazuje pisarz, istnieje dwustronna zależność: z jednej strony śmierć inspiruje do wyrażenia istoty natury ludzkiej w formach kulturowych, z drugiej — jest wykorzystywana doosiągania celów ideologicznych i politycznych.

The article is an attempt to present the multiple aspects of the “death” of the book in culture. The topic can be examined on several levels, discussed in the following order: empirical (physical), speculative (discursive) and artistic (fi ctional). The author raises the question of the validity of the metaphorical use of the word „death” with reference to the book, pointing to its basic sources and connotations. The author’s refl ections are complemented by a short overview of literary images of the “death” of the book, which serve, as she believes, didactic and propaganda functions.

Artykuł stanowi próbę przedstawienia wieloaspektowości tematu „śmierci” książki w kulturze. Temat ten daje się rozpatrywać na kilku omówionych kolejno poziomach: empirycznym (fizykalnym), spekulatywnym (dyskursywnym) i artystycznym (fikcjonalnym). Poruszono przy tym kwestię zasadności użycia metaforycznego określenia „śmierć” w odniesieniu do książki, ze wskazaniem jego podstawowych źródeł i konotacji. Rozważania dopełnia krótki przegląd literackich obrazów „śmierci” książki, pełniących ― w przekonaniu autorki ― funkcję dydaktyczno-propagandową.

W artykule Manifestacje sztuki publicznej nawiązuję do moich fotograficznych projektów (sub-Park 2014 -... i Dokumenty podróży, 2015-2016). Stawiam pytanie, czy we współczesnej Polsce chcemy patrzeć na przyrodę w wymiarach proksemicznym i historycznym - czy interesuje nas „zieleń ocalała” pozwalająca poznać sposoby widzenia charakterystyczne dla przedwojennych architektów, którzy tworzyli miasta przyłączone do Polski po 1945 r.? Uwaga moja skoncentrowana jest na specyficznej przestrzeni parku Grabiszyńskiego, niegdyś niemieckiego cmentarza, zniszczonego w latach 60. ubiegłego wieku i ostatecznie przekształconego w miejski teren zielony. Analizie twórczej podane zostały wciąż istniejące struktury drzew ujmowane jako anonimowe manifestacje sztuki publicznej. Do udziału w projekcie zaproszona została też społeczność ostańców, mężczyzn i kobiet urodzonych na terenie przedwojennego Wrocławia i okolic, a także Niemców wypędzonych i emigrantów. Rozmawiałem z nimi o parku Grabiszyńskim i fotografowałem ich w kilku parkach Polski i Niemiec. W artykule przedstawione jest też stanowisko nt. formy wizualnej będącej wynikiem relacji społecznych oraz zagadnienie autoreferencji.

Within the article “Manifestations of public art” and through photographic projects (subPark 2014-..., Travel Documents, 2015-2016), I am asking the question whether modern art needs and strives for nature in proxemic and historical dimension as an area of “salvaged green”, evoking ways of viewing specific to pre-war architects of cities incorporated into Polish borders after 1945. Grabiszyński Park, former German cemetery, demolished in the 1960s, eventually transformed into a green area. Structures of trees are subjected to creative analysis comprised in categories of anonymous manifestations of public art. Community of outliers born within the area of pre-war city and its vicinity as well as expelled Germans and emigrants photographed in several parks of Poland and Germany were invited to participate in the project. The position regarding visual form being the result of social relations and the phenomenon of autoreference has been presented.
