The article focuses on the issue of dyspraxia in autism spectrum disorder. The first part discusses the term dyspraxia, which is variously defined and understood, and presents it in relation to the current taxonomy of sensory integration disorders. The subsequent sections present abnormal sensory processing, including motor planning in children with ASD, as well as its sensory origin. The final section reviews research on praxis in autism spectrum disorders. The analysis of literature indicates that abnormal sensory processing and motor planning may co-occur with autism. The main aim of this article is an attempt to show to what extent the theory of sensory integration takes part in explaining the course of (impaired) motor processes in people with autism.
Niniejszy artykuł stanowi próbę zastosowania teorii interakcji do analizy zachowań 8-letniego dziecka ze sprzężonymi zaburzeniami rozwoju – autyzmem i niepełnosprawnością intelektualną1 w stopniu umiarkowanym.

The article aims to implement the interaction theory in order to analyse the behaviour of an eight-year-old boy with multiple-complex developmental disorders – autism and moderate intellectual disability. Autism, also called pervasive developmental disorder, in most cases co-occurs with intellectual disability that refers not only to the cognitive sphere but also to social and adaptive opportunities. Thus, this study is an attempt to differentiate the mechanisms that lead to interference of the symptoms of the child’s interactions conditioned by multiple-complex developmental disorder.
Following the example of other scientific disciplines, pedagogy faces the challenge of implementing an evidence-based work model. The subject of the research is the review and analysis of the results of reports concerning the effectiveness of implementing social stories in working with the students with autism spectrum disorders at the elementary education stage. The main goal of the study is to popularize social stories as an effective method of working with such students. The reviewed literature encompassed foreign scientific journals available via electronic databases. The materials selected in the query were thoroughly analysed, particularly in terms of the subject of research, its goals and the course of an intervention with the use of a social story. Indications for the application of social stories while working with a child with the autism spectrum were identified. Taking into account the objective limitations of the presented research reports, there appears to be the need to continue the research on the effectiveness of story-based interventions.

Podążając wzorem innych dyscyplin naukowych, także i pedagogika stoi przed wyzwaniem wdrażania modelu pracy w oparciu o badania naukowe an evidence-based.
