A broadly understood concept of adjection used in rhetoric comprises various types of verbal and content references. This figure of speech plays an important role in the texts of the Holy Scripture as it shapes the literary construction of the world portrayed by the hagiographers and in consequence bears an impact on the message that they convey. New Bible translations into Polish usually focus on the communicative clarity of the vocabulary chosen, and are less frequently concerned with harmonizing the different levels of the text. The present paper compares eight contemporary Polish translations of the Letter to Philemon together with accompanying commentaries. Among other things, attention is drawn to such elements as the deployment of the etymology of the name Onesi- mus and its connection with the word Christos, the recurrence of the concept of “good”, emphasis on or omission of the connotations of the theme of fight. The interpretations of verses 1, 9, 10 and 14 are set apart since contain metaphors or metonymy. Respect for or reduction of the semantic function of the anaphora and epiphora is examined. The translators of the Letter to Philemon, com- pared to the translators of other books of the Bible, showed greater appreciation, though in varying degrees, of the meaning-formation value of adjection. Perhaps this is due to the shortness of this piece of writing by St. Paul, as fewer textual elements are easier to harmonize.

In this paper, the author reconstructs a critical‑literary discussion, which took place in 1888 after the release of the monograph devoted to Jan Kochanowski by Stanisław Tarnowski. It was an attempt at combining previous findings on the biography and work of the Renaissance poet. Reading the most important critical statements evoked by Tarnowski’s book made it possible to characterise an important state of research into Kochanowski’s work and indicate essential problematic issues (religious matters, ‘the Ronsard question’, the case of Kochanowski’s artistic creativity, assessing the advancement of knowledge about his works), which in the 19th century were regarded as arguable, unresolved or demanding a particular cognitive effort. The authors in those days, thanks to their joint effort, managedto determine the scope of issues which would be investigated by researchers in the following years.

The paper is a critical discussion of Jerzy Madejski’s book Poetologie postrukturalne. Szkice krytyczne. The author reconstructs the cognitive assumptions adopted by Madejski, who by reviewing academic works simultaneously diagnoses the state and opportunities for the future development of the discipline. The “after-structuralism” formula allows him to highlight the rank and influence of structuralism on the way of conducting academic considerations in Poland. The variety of poetological visions included in the books discussed by Madejski is supposed to be the evidence of the critical insufficiency ofa the “after-structuralism” category in reference to structuralism. The author confronts this way of thinking with the thesis which is characteristic for post-structuralism, i.e. that literary studies have little scientificity. The author reads the critical essays included in the volume as a coherent proposal for a method for academic critique, based on the conviction that it is possible for the discipline to be autonomous, as well as a practical realization of this idea.

Artykuł jest krytycznym omówieniem książki Jerzego Madejskiego Poetologie postrukturalne. Szkice krytyczne. Autorka rekonstruuje poznawcze założenia przyjęte przez badacza, który recenzując naukowe dzieła, równolegle diagnozuje stan i perspektywy rozwoju dyscypliny. Formuła „postrukturalizmu” pozwala Madejskiemu wyeksponować rangę i wpływ strukturalizmu na sposób uprawiania naukowej refleksji w Polsce. O niewystarczalności krytycznej wobec strukturalizmu kategorii „poststrukturalizm” świadczyć ma różnorodność poetologicznych wizji zawartych w omawianych przez niego książkach. Autorka konfrontuje ten sposób myślenia z charakterystyczną dla poststrukturalizmu tezą o słabej naukowości literaturoznawstwa. Czyta zgromadzone w tomie szkice krytyczne jako spójną propozycję metody akademickiej krytyki, opierającej się na przekonaniu o możliwej autonomii dyscypliny oraz jako praktyczną realizację tej idei.

The article attempts to place micropoetics on the map of contemporary cultural phenomena and within the context of other areas of scholarship. The author treats micropoetics as a subjective quasi-method in scholarly literary studies, oriented toward detailed, in-depth analysis. She shows the traits that connect it with traditional philological scholarship, as well as what constitutes its innovative element: an individualized reading strategy, adapted to the object of analysis, an individualized approach to the work, and the self-consciousness of the scholar-micrologist, who takes a distanced view of his own judgments and is conscious of their situational nature. The main distinguishing feature of micrology becomes, in her reading, its attentiveness, discussed here as a historically legitimate category.

Artykuł jest próbą umiejscowienia mikropoetyki na mapie współczesnych zjawisk kulturowych oraz w kontekście innych dziedzin nauki. Autorka traktuje mikropoetykę jako subiektywną, nastawioną na szczegółową analizę detalu quasi-metodę literaturoznawczych badań. Wskazuje na cechy łączące ją z tradycyjnymi badaniami filologicznymi, a także na to, co stanowi jej novum: jednorazowość strategii lekturowej, dostosowywanej do przedmiotu analizy, zindywidualizowane podejście do dzieła oraz samoświadomość badacza mikrologa, zdystansowanego wobec własnych sądów i świadomego ich sytuacyjności. Głównym wyznacznikiem mikrologii staje się w tym ujęciu uważność, omawiana tu również jako kategoria umocowana historycznie.

Der Beitrag schildert im Überblick Publikationen, die sich mit der Literaturgeschichte Pommerns auseinandersetzen, und konzentriert sich auf das 2013 erschienene Buch Roswitha Wisniewskis. Trotz einer relativ langen Tradition der Schreib- und Lesekultur sowie einer hohen Anzahl von Autoren, die nicht nur im 20. Jahrhundert in Pommern agierten, wurde die Geschichte der Regionalliteratur Pommerns bis heute in ihrer Ganzheit nicht ausführlich bearbeitet. Die Publikation Roswitha Wisniewskis bietet einen ersten solide fundierten und relativ umfassenden Überblick über die Literatur in Pommern von ihren Anfängen bis heute. Einige wenige Anmerkungen zur Geschichte, die die einiges zu wünschen übrig lassenden Bereiche markieren, ändern wenig an der gewichtigen Allgemeinbedeutung der Publikation.

The article provides an overview on publications that tackle the history of literature of Pomerania, concentrating on the book by Roswitha Wisniewski, published in German in 2013. Despite a relatively long tradition a culture of reading and writing and a massive number of authors who have been active in Pomerania not only in the 20th century, a history of regional literature has not yet been captured and described in its entirety. The publication by Roswitha Wisniewski offers the very first thoroughly edited and relatively lengthy review of the development of literature in Pomerania from its beginnings until today. The few notes on aspects that leave a little to be desired do not change the comprehensive importance of the book.

Artykuł stanowi przegląd publikacji, zajmujących się historią literatury Pomorza Zachodniego, i koncentruje się na opublikowanej w 2013 roku niemieckojęzycznej książce Roswithy Wisniewski. Mimo względnie długiej tradycji kultury czytelnictwa i piśmiennictwa oraz wysokiej liczby autorów, którzy tworzyli na Pomorzu Zachodnim nie tylko w XX w., historia literatury regionalnej nie została do dziś opracowana całościowo. Publikacja Roswithy Wisniewski oferuje pierwszy rzetelnie opracowany i stosunkowo obszerny przegląd historii literatury na Pomorzu Zachodnim od jej początków po dzień dzisiejszy. Nieliczne uwagi, wskazujące wątki pozostawiające nieco do życzenia, nie zmieniają oceny istotności tej publikacji.

W artykule podjęto próbę przemyślenia relacji Adama Mickiewicza z Weltliteratur i wykazano, które konteksty dotyczące idei sformułowanej po raz pierwszy przez Johanna Wolfganga Goethego odgrywały szczególną rolę w twórczości polskiego romantyka. Na przykładzie „Prelekcji paryskich”, zwłaszcza pięciu pierwszych wykładów, przyjrzano się temu, w jaki sposób Mickiewicz posługiwał się literaturą światową, i omówiono kontekst toczących się debat słowianoznawczych.

The author of the paper attempts to reconsider the relations between Adam Mickiewicz and Weltliteratur and discloses the factors referring to the idea, formulated for the first time by Johann Wolfgang Goethe, that played special function in the Polish poet’s output. As based on Paris lectures, particularly the first five of them, the author insights into the way in which Mickiewicz takes advantage of world literature and discusses the context of Slavonic studies debate that took place at that time.
