The problem of optimizing the estimation of the weights of p objects in n weighing operations using a chemical balance is considered. Conditions under which the existence of an optimum chemical balance weighing design for p objects implies the existence of an optimum chemical balance weighing design for p + 1 objects are given. We assume that variance matrix of errors is diagonal. We want all variances of estimated measurements to be equal and attaining their lower bound. To construct the design matrix of considered optimum chemical balance weighing design we use the incidence matrices of balanced bipartite weighing designs.

In the paper, the model of the chemical balance weighing design, i.e. model in that the result of experiment we can describe as linear function of unknown measurements of objects with known factors, is presented. Additionally, we assume that the measurement errors are uncorrelated and they have different variances. The problem is to estimate unknown measurements of objects. The existence conditions setting the optimum design and new construction method of the matrix determining the conditions of the experiment, are presented.
The paper is studying the estimation problem of individual weights of objects using the chemical balance weighing design under the restriction on the number times in which each object is weighed. It is assumed that the errors have the same variances and they are equal correlated. The necessary and sufficient conditions under which the lower bound of variance of each of estimated weights is attained are given. For construction of the design matrix of the optimum chemical balance weighing design we use the incidence matrices of the balanced bipartite weighing designs and the ternary balanced block designs.

The paper we study the problem of estimation of individual (weights) measurements p objects using n measurements operations according to the model of the chemical balance weighing design. We assume that in each measurement not all object are included. W artykule rozważamy doświadczenie, w którym wyznaczamy nieznane miary p obiektów przy użyciu n operacji pomiarowych zgodnie z modelem chemicznego układu wagowego. Wyznaczamy układ, który spełnia kryterium D‑optymalności. Do konstrukcji D‑optymalnego układu wykorzystujemy macierze incydencji układów zrównoważonych o blokach niekompletnych, dwudzielne układy blokowe oraz trójkowe zrównoważone układy blokowe.

We study an experiment in which we determine unknown measurements of p objects in n weighing operations according to the model of the chemical balance weighing design. We determine a design which is D‑optimal. For the construction of the D‑optimal design, we use the incidence matrices of balance incomplete block designs, balanced bipartite weighing designs and ternary balanced block designs. We give some optimality conditions determining the relationships between the parameters of a D‑optimal design and we present a series of parameters of such designs. Based on these parameters, we will be able to set down D‑optimal designs in classes in which it was impossible so far.

Here, we study the design in that we determine unknown measurements of p objects by used of n measurement operations. For that reason we consider the chemical balance weighing design under assumption that the measurement errors are uncorrelated and they have the same variances. We give new construction method of the A-optimal chemical balance weighing design based on the incidence matrices of the balanced bipartite weighing designs and the ternary balanced block designs. The consequence of the proposed method is widening of possible classes in that A-optimal design exists.
