Jednym z niezwykle ważnych obszarów działania polityki społecznej jest zwalczanie negatywnych skutków bezrobocia. Celem artykułu jest wszechstronna analiza zjawiska bezrobocia i związanych z nim komplementarnych działań w zakresie polityki społecznej. Bezrobocie zostało uznane za zjawisko jawne, trwałe. Z okresu transformacji systemowej stało się ono jednym z problemów makroekonomicznych i makrospołecznych Polski. Zjawisko bezrobocia można rozpatrywać w aspekcie wywoływanych przez to zjawisko skutków pozytywnych, oraz negatywnych. Bezrobocie to niezwykle ważny problem polityki społecznej. Jest zjawiskiem wielowątkowym, wywierającym głównie negatywny wpływ na wszystkie najważniejsze sfery życia politycznego, gospodarczego i społecznego.

One of the most crucial areas of social policy is fighting against unemployment. The aim of the article is a profound analysis of the unemployment phenomenon and the consequent complementary activities of social policy. Unemployment has been considered as a durable phenomenon. In the times of the political system transformation, it became one of the micro and macro-economic problems in Poland. The phenomenon of unemployment can be perceived through the positive and negative consequences it caused. Unemployment is an unusually important problem of social policy which is a multi-layered phenomenon exerting negative influence on many spheres of political, social, and economic life
