Problem podnoszenia kwalifikacji bibliotekarzy w bibliotekach uczelnianych ujawnił się po zmianach w przepisach odnoszących się do szkolnictwa wyższego, w tym zawodu bibliotekarza, obniżających rangę bibliotekarza dyplomowanego (naukowego). Osiągnięcia naukowe, pedagogiczne i organizacyjne bibliotekarzy do 2013 roku świadczą o konieczności intensywnego i ustawicznego podnoszenia kwalifikacji bibliotekarza dyplomowanego.

The problem of improving the qualifications of librarians in university libraries has emerged after changes in higher education legislation, including the profession of librarian and lowering the rank of diploma (academic) librarian. The academic, pedagogical and organizational achievements of librarians till 2013 demonstrate the need for intensive and continuous upgrading of the qualifications of a diploma librarian.

Biblioteka Instytutu Ekonomii i Zarządzania Katolickiego Uniwersytetu Lubelskiego Jana Pawła II gromadzi, opracowuje i udostępnia książki i czasopisma z zakresu m.in. ekonomii, zarządzania, marketingu i międzynarodowych stosunków gospodarczych. Biblioteka włącza się w realizację zadań szkoleniowych i dydaktycznych, które mają na celu szkolenie czytelników z nowoczesnymi e-zasobami. Według historycznych źródeł biblioteka powstała w drugiej dekadzie XX wieku. Początkowo biblioteka funkcjonowała jako Biblioteka Seminarium Statystyczno-Ekonomicznego. Po likwidacji Wydziału Prawa i Nauk Społeczno-Ekonomicznych księgozbiór nauk ekonomicznych został włączony do Biblioteki Zakładu Socjologii. W 1981 r. Zakład Ekonomii został reaktywowany. Wtedy też zaczęła funkcjonować biblioteka dla Sekcji Ekonomii. W późniejszym czasie przemianowano ją na Bibliotekę Instytutu Ekonomii, a potem na Bibliotekę Instytutu Ekonomii i Zarządzania. Księgozbiór biblioteczny pozyskiwany jest zarówno drogą zakupów, jak i darów.

The Library of the Institute of Economics and Management of the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin collects, describes and lends books, magazines from such fields as economics, management, marketing, international economic relations. The library is involved in the implementation of training and didactic tasks to instruct readers with modern e-resources. According to historical sources, the library was established in the second decade of the twentieth century. Initially, the library was named as the Library of the Statistical-Economic Seminar. When the Faculty of Law and Socioeconomic Sciences was put into liquidation in 1952, the collection was transferred to the Library of the School of Sociology. In 1981 the School of Economics was re-established. Then the Library of the School Economics started to work. Later it was renamed as the Library of the Institute of Economics and then the Library of the Institute of Economics and Management. The size of the collection increased both through purchase and through donations.

Coraz więcej bibliotek, w tym także bibliotek naukowych, jest już obecnych w serwisie Instagram. Odpowiedzialni za medialny wizerunek bibliotek akademickich, próbują dotrzeć przez media społecznościowe do obecnych użytkowników, przedstawić im swoją ofertę, a także przyciągnąć nowych czytelników. Serwis Instagram zadebiutował w październiku 2010 r. i jest dedykowany przede wszystkim do materiałów graficznych - zdjęć i krótkich materiałów wideo.

More and more libraries are already present on Instagram. Those responsible for the image of academic libraries in the media try to reach out to users through social media, to present the library’s offer and to acquire new readers. The Instagram website debuted in 2010 and is dedicated mainly to visual materials - photos and short videos.

Seit ihrem Anfang im Jahre 200 I hat die Theologische Bibliothek mit 52 polnischen Instituten, vorwiegend Bibliotheken der Theologischen Fakultäten, Vereinbarungen über den Austausch ihrer Veröffentlichungen getroffen. Gegenstände des Tausches sind alle durch die Theologischen Fakultäten veröffentlichten Werke: Bücher, Serien, Zeitschriften. Somit bekommt unsere Bibliothek sämtliche Publikationen aller Theologischen Fakultäten. Darüber hinaus gibt es mit den Bibliotheken der Priesterseminare eine Absprache, Titel für Titel zu tauschen. So gelangt etwa ein Drittel der Zeitschriften, die für uns von Belang sind, in unsere Sammlung. Obwohl ursprünglich beabsichtigt war, nur Zeitschriften zu tauschen, bekommen wir jetzt auf diese Art auch eine erhebliche Anzahl von Büchern und Serien. Auf diese Weise bekommt die Theologische Bibliothek nicht nur die neuesten theologischen Publikationen, die am wichtigsten sind, sondern auch ältere Werke, die am Markt nicht mehr erhältlich sind. Dieser Austausch der Veröffentlichungen spielt eine große Rolle bei der Vervollständigung des Buchbestandes unserer Bibliothek. Er dient auch der Förderung von Arbeiten der Theologischen Fakultät und bietet eine wichtige Möglichkeit der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den Bibliotheken.
