Dwelling is one of the practices that builds the lifestyle of an individual who selects convenient, usually consistent elements from the entire range of communication offers. Analysis shows how living space is organised and presented in new development investments. The aim of the analysis was to reconstruct images of modern housing based on the marketing communication which is presented on development companies’ websites. It was possible to distinguish repetitive narratives about flats and estates considered as spaces that perform functions and serve specific purposes. The concept of JOS (Linguistic Image of the World) was used for the analysis and facilitated the discovery of the representation of the perception of reality contained in language. The research was based on the vocabulary, phraseology and semantics of the texts. The analysis made it possible to perceive and describe five highlights in communication dimensions of living (location, design adaptation, safety, community and comfort). Capturing the relationship between linguistic and social elements and their meaning, significant from the point of view of creating meanings, has led to the conclusion that buying an apartment from a developer equals buying a specific lifestyle. Developers using communication based on social norms and aspirations offer the individual a coherent vision of a “better” future and an ideal life. Despite the slight differences between various estate investments, the picture of residence presented in the marketing communications is universal—it refers to a small catalogue of values.
Brand identity management is central to brand building which prompted our evaluation on two master brands – Coca Cola and CloseUp – using the Brand Identity Prism. It explored how consumer inclusiveness and socioeconomic migration have affected consumers’ identification with the select brands. A survey based on the projective technique that deconstructed the six facets of the BIP as items in the questionnaire was applied to a cross national consumer-base of sample size 2,881 arrived at using 95% confidence level, 80% expected response rate and loss of sampling efficiency at 1.5. Data collected was analysed using the simple percentage and the Two-Way ANOVA Statistics to ascertain if there had been any significant difference among the means of the timeline. We argue that a brand might not have consistent strong identification with consumers over all the facets every time, and that with consumer inclusiveness and socio-economic migration, it is likely that consumers will stick with existing brands irrespective of lifestyles, new tastes and choices especially if majority of the brands’ facets through the prism are optimised. It is concluded that consumer inclusiveness and socio-economic migration have positive effects on consumer identification with identified brands despite the existence of inclusion and migration over a timeline.
The article discusses the issue of influencer marketing in the context of social, technological and individual changes that affect the effectiveness of marketing communications. Limitations resulting from consumer preferences, media fragmentation and information overload make it increasingly difficult for brands to build awareness and reach audiences. Influencer marketing is an area that is increasingly willing to be used in the communication mix, but also in this area, we observe a growing number of limitations, which are worth being aware of when planning activities in this area. The purpose of this paper is to identify the limitations arising from the use of algorithms by social media platforms that determine the layout and visibility of content in the feed. The author developed an overview of algorithm changes on the Instagram platform and reviewed the literature on this issue concerning the Instagram platform, which is indicated as the most frequently used by marketers for activities in the field of influencer marketing. Visibility restrictions due to algorithms affect not only brands but also influencers. However, influencers take a number of actions to recognise the rules imposed by algorithms, thus building greater visibility for their content. Additionally, they can support brands with their expert experience. Therefore, the choice of an influencer for cooperation should, in addition to essential parameters related to brand fit, consider the effectiveness of reaching new audiences through the skilful use of knowledge and experience in the changing rules of algorithms.
