The comparative analysis that has been conducted emphasizes the necessity of using various methods of multicriterial comparative analysis in order to make an adequate selection of a decision variant in problem situations. The author has demonstrated the need to conduct such an analysis in the decision process of selecting the type of rifle as part of a purchase in a tender for individual small arms by using Bellinger’s method. Thus, the author has justified the necessity of conducting decision analyses concerning planned munition purchases and also of regarding them as a valuable source of information that should be taken into account in the decision process. The execution of the research concept described in the paper can be a valuable source of information on the development of the arms industry, ordnance and individual soldiers’ gear.
