Artykuł analizuje rolę przyjmowanego przedziału czasu w definicji wskaźnika b opartego na kowariancjach stóp zwrotu danego papieru wartościowego oraz wariancji stóp zwrotu portfela inwestycji rynkowych. Wskaźnik ten ma istotne znaczenie jako opisujący poziom ryzyka danej inwestycji. Przyjęcie określonego poziomu czasookresu analizy mieści się w kategoriach inżynierii finansowej. W artykule przeprowadzono analizę dotychczasowych istotniejszych prac we wzmiankowanym zakresie.

The article analyses the importance of the time period category in the b index based on the covariance of rates of return of a given security and the variance of return rates in a market investment portfolio. The index plays an important role in determining the risk level of an investment. Choosing the time period to be used in an analysis falls within the boundaries of financial engineering. The Author examines some of the publications to date dealing with the above subject.
