Z uwagi na stale zachodzące zmiany na rynku edukacyjnym i zawodowym, podjęcie decyzji o dalszym kształceniu/pracy zawodowej nasuwa wiele trudności, szczególnie młodym ludziom, którzy dokonują pierwszego w swoim życiu wyboru szkoły/zawodu. W artykule zaprezentowano wyniki badań, które zostały przeprowadzone w szkołach gimnazjalnych (zarówno wiejskich, jak i usytuowanych we wszystkich miastach powiatowych województwa lubuskiego), których celem było określenie aktywności gimnazjalistów w aspekcie wyboru drogi edukacyjno-zawodowej.

Due to the continuous changes in the educational and career market, taking a decision on further education/career poses a number of difficulties, particularly to young people who make their first choices regarding a profession/school. The article presents the results of a survey which was carried out in middle schools (both village schools and ones situated in all county towns in Lubuskie Voivodeship), aiming to define the activity of middle school students in the aspect of choosing the educational and career path.

Wybór drogi edukacyjno-zawodowej przez uczniów szkół gimnazjalnych odbywa się w trudnym dla nich okresie. Przemiany zachodzące wewnątrz organizmu, częste konflikty z dorosłymi, zmiana autorytetów, czy też silne oddziaływanie grupy rówieśniczej, to tylko niektóre z pojawiających się trudności. Dodatkowo niestabilna sytuacja na rynku pracy oraz bogata oferta edukacyjna sprawiają, że młody człowiek staje przed wieloma dylematami decyzyjnymi. Aby pomóc gimnazjalistom, istotne jest zapoznanie się z czynnikami, które ich zdaniem, są pomocne w podejmowaniu decyzji edukacyjno-zawodowych na III etapie edukacyjnym – temu właśnie poświęcono niniejsze opracowanie. W artykule zaprezentowano: 1) informacje teoretyczne dotyczące szkolnego doradztwa zawodwego; 2) wyniki badań przeprowadzonych wśród uczniów szkół gimnazjalnych usytuowanych zarówno na wsi, jak i w miastach powiatowych.

Grammar school students make their choices with respect to an educational and career path in a challenging environment. The changes which occur inside their bodies, frequent conflicts with adults, changing role models or strong peer influence: these are just a few of the difficulties that emerge. In addition, the unstable employment situation and the abundant educational opportunities make the young person face a great number of decision-making dilemmas. In order to support grammar school youth it is important to familiarize oneself with the factors which, in their opinion, are useful while making educational and career-related decisions at the third educational stage. This is what the study is devoted to. The article presents, as follows: 1) theoretical information on career counselling in schools; 2) the results of a survey conducted among students of grammar schools located both in the country and in county towns.
