The authors try to examine the class diversification hypothesis in the context of recent social and economic changes occurring in the community of family farm owners/operators in Poland. Basing on three consecutive national research conducted respectively in 1994, 1999 and 2007 the processes of diversification have been analyzed. They are observed on the level of changing market positions of farms as well as on the level of class consciousness of the owners/operators, and on the level of strategies preferred by them to defend their interests. The analysis of research results leads to the conclusion that the discrepancy between the group of business-type farms with visible elements of “capitalist consciousness” and the group of rather marginalized ones with lack of “capitalist consciousness” might be observed.

This paper tries to articulate some of the socio-cultural impacts of the globalization induced ICT [Information and Communication Technology] revolution in India from sociological view points. Having perceived the phenomenon within the framework of social stratification, the paper tries to deal with the, (i) emergence of a new class of capitalists and a new class of elite workforce that has come to be known as ICT/ knowledge workers, (along with its own sub-culture). (ii) Further, the paper tries to sociologically analyze the phenomenon of growing class consciousness among the knowledge workers in terms of being class in itself / class for itself as they displayed conscious resistance to unionize themselves. (iii) The paper also analyzes the phenomenon of embourgeoisement among the knowledge workers in terms of their cultural and social capitals. Thus, based on primary as well as secondary source observations, the paper is a study of India’s Techno-Coolie and Cyber-Coolie, as a new class of elite technical workforce, the basis of its identity formation and its emerging sub-culture.

This article discusses the role of the creative writer as the conscience of his society using Festus Iyayi as an exam-ple. The study focuses on the themes and narrative technique of Iyayi's Heroes to present the author as a literary artist who exposes the corruption and other forms of social evil perpetrated against the common man and the soci-ety generally. Studies show that Iyayi’s Heroes is one of the literary works written on the Nigerian civil war fought between 1967 and 1970. Iyayi’s novel, however, is said to be different from other literary works on the war on account of its neutral perspective on the crisis. This is what informs the choice of the novel for this study. In the novel, Iyayi projects himself as the conscience of society highlighting the deceit, corruption, class-consciousness, insensitivity and avarice to which the common man and the society are subjected by the ruling class using the façade of fighting a civil war. The outcome of this study establishes Iyayi as a conscientious patriot who uses the genre of the novel to highlight the wrongs of Nigerian society with a prescription for social reform. Creative writer, novel, Festus Iyayi, the conscience of society, Nigerian civil war, corruption, class consciousness, greed, avarice, the antidote W artykule omówiono rolę pisarza jako sumienia społeczeństwa na przykładzie Festus Iyayi. To właśnie zdecydowało o wyborze powieści do niniejszego artykułu. The main objective of this article is to find the actual subject of the classical marxist revolution. The paper starts with the analysis and critics of the modern views on the process of revolution and its effects. Currently, critical theory depicts the project of socialism/communism in completely utopist manner, the project of workers revolution is integrated with the project of total emancipation of the women, nature and everything. The criticism of this approach is also the criticism of operaist and anarchist belief in the naturally obtained revolutionary consciousness of proletariat. Showing differences in the ideological identities between different parts of proletariat I show the global worker class as totally divided between bourgeois and proletarian ideologies. The class struggle within workers class is a tool of bourgeois and its colonialism. Next, pointing at Lenin’s concept of imperialism as the current stage of capitalism I try to describe some most important, necessary conditions for the revolution to occur and to indicate the exact moment of the revolutionary outbreak.
