The article concerns the child from an alcoholic family in a pre-school environment. The author presents a theoretical introduction on definitions important for understanding the subject, then addresses the subject of social pathology as a factor disturbing the durability of the family system. The topic of social roles in the alcoholic family and their impact on the child’s socialization process continue to arouse interest. Another issue raised in the article is the topic of co-dependence, starting from the general definition and understanding of the concept and ending with the impact of this phenomenon on the child’s functioning. The issue analyzed and reflected is as follows: a child from an alcoholic family as a student – in particular in relationships with teachers and peers. The author reflected moreover on the possible difficulties a child in a pathological family may encounter in the school environment, as well as on suggested practical solutions and a support network that may help the individual and its immediate environment to fight against difficulties and to motivate change. The article has an introduction and ending, which aptly sums up the issues dealt with.

It is extremely rare that the perpetrator of a post-aggression suicide can be psychologically examined, as such a person usually dies. Even rarer is the situation in which the victim and the perpetrator both survive despite the fact that the injury sustained – here a gunshot wound to the head – leaves little chance of survival. However, it is unprecedented that, in the case described herein, which had the above characteristics, the victim has forgiven the perpetrator and while the latter is serving a prison sentence, the victim often visits him in prison and awaits his release.

Niezwykle rzadko istnieje możliwość psychologicznego zbadania sprawcy samobójstwa poagresyjnego, gdyż zazwyczaj ponosi on śmierć.

In the forms of aid individual therapy, counseling and education dominate. Less than half of the institutions have a therapeutic program worked out for pathological gamblers, and the remaining institutions conduct therapy according to programs prepared for people addicted to psychoactive substances. Addiction therapists say there is a great need of improving their qualifications in the sphere of supporting people with behavioral addiction – including pathological gambling.

The family is the primary educational environment of every child. Healthy family functioning influences the full and optimal development of the child. Satisfied needs, love, bonds, acceptance and respect are the basis for shaping of own identity – sense of self-worth. Nowadays, many of children are brought up in dysfunctional families, for example: a parent addicted to alcohol, experiencing violence and traumatic experiences or neglect of loved ones. According to recent studies, the phenomenon of family pathology concerns almost every fourth child. Such an environment is not child development friendly and does not prepare the child for responsible roles in adult life. To prevent child abuse, it is important to organize multi-faceted help.
