Strategia wolnego handlu oraz idea protekcjonizmu – dwa przeciwstawne modele polityki wymiany gospodarczej z zagranicą. Liberalizm zakłada całkowitą likwidację ograniczeń handlowych, co w rzeczywistości nie jest możliwe. W artykule przeanalizowano argumenty przemawiające za stosowaniem zasad wolnego handlu oraz protekcjonizmu w polskich specjalnych strefach ekonomicznych. Nie można jednoznaczne stwierdzić czy powinno się stosować protekcjonizm czy liberalizm gospodarczy. Obie idee stanowią ważne instrumenty działalności krajów realizujących gospodarkę rynkową, w tym również krajów należących do Unii Europejskiej.

Free trade strategy and the idea of protectionism – two opposite models of the policy of economic exchange with foreign countries. Liberalism assumes the complete elimination of trade restrictions, which is not really possible. The article analyzes the arguments for applying the principles of free trade and protectionism in Polish special economic zones. It is not clear whether protectionism or economic liberalism should be applied. Both concepts are important instruments of the activities of countries implementing the market economy, including those belonging to the European Union.
