High level of engagement among the members of organizational community significantly contributes to company's development. Therefore, seeking the ways to effectively harness such engagement should for the organizational leaders be equally important as the concern about the economic side of business. For instance, the team work can strongly benefit from such common values. The paper describes the results of a survey that involved more than 500 people. The survey aimed at broadening the knowledge about how organizational values contribute to maintaining high level of employee engagement. Collected data can serve as an important guideline for the executives as they indicate what type of actions that take into consideration organizational values could help improve effectiveness of the company. The results of the research clearly show that stimulating feelings of responsibility, appreciating the signs of engagement and creating a climate of trust and collaboration based on companionship have very positive impact on employees' engagement. They also show the benefits of taking gender differences into consideration, as expectations in this matter differ depending on a gender.

In the article the author discuss the issue how training and development of employees influence the company development, based on a national and international literature review. The employees constitute the basic capital of each organisation. The improvement of their qualifications is a significant element for the company strategy as the newest technologies are useless if people are not able to use them. Changes in the recent years concern not only the development of the training market, but also the increase in the awareness of the management staff that effective training, which are linked with relevant objectives, are important for the development of a company and its employees. More and more often the practitioners in management area confirm the close relation between the quality of a human capital and the competitiveness of a company.

The article presents Values of Mining Corporation Scale (VMCS) that measures five values of a mining company: protection pursued by safety, obedience implemented by discipline, practical skills carried out by experience, trust executed by responsibility and finally courage and exceptionality implemented by tradition. In a quantitative study (N = 193) the authors verify properties of the constructed scale. A relationship between employee perception for locus of control and perception of mining values has been examined. The results suggest that measured values are related with each other and with a superior value of nature as a source of wealth. Moreover the presence of measured values correlates with the perception of control located internally, thus it increases the perceived impact of own employee’s actions.

This paper presents changes in approach to personalized marketing as observed in the development of the Nasza Klasa Company in the IT industry. Its main focus is the personalized instruments used in such marketing. It is against this backdrop that the matter of creating employer image is also examined.

Innovations are a key factor of companies’ competitiveness in the current economic conditions. National competitiveness is achieved by efforts at all levels of the economy, but first of all - at the level of individual companies, which compete with each other on national and international markets, and create the real welfare of the nation. The article presents the results of generalization of the world experience in the application of innovations in the development strategy of companies.

The article explains the concepts on management in uncertain circumstances. It highlights the methods of gaining a competitive advantage in a rapidly changing business environment. At first a literature review was conducted to select the theories about the management methods in continuously changing business conditions. Then core aspects were selected for each of the concepts. Finally, recommendations for managers willing to achieve competitive advantage were formulated. Crucial factors needed to gain a competitive advantage in a dynamically changing business environment include: being alert to market changes; investing and developing continuously; taking special care of relationships; growing a company’s knowledge; and building trustful organisational culture. The research was based on a literature review only. The results of the research can be helpful for companies to improve their development in the dynamically changing market. The study examined several management models and provided integral propositions ready to be introduced in practice.

Artykuł prezentuje koncepcje zarządzania w warunkach niepewności. Podkreślone zostały pomysły na to, jak zyskać przewagę konkurencyjną w gwałtownie zmieniających się warunkach rynkowych. Najpierw przeprowadzono analizę literatury, aby wyselekcjonować teorie zarządzania w warunkach zmian rynkowych. Następnie wybrano najważniejsze kwestie dla każdej z koncepcji. W rezultacie sformułowano zasadnicze rekomendacje dla managerów chcących osiągnąć przewagę konkurencyjną. Za najważniejsze czynniki wpływające na zdobycie przewagi konkurencyjnej w zmiennych warunkach rynkowych uznano monitoring postępujących zmian rynkowych, stałe inwestowanie w rozwój, dbałość o relacje oraz tworzenie kultury organizacji opartej na zaufaniu. Wyniki badań mogą być przydatne firmom w celu poprawy ich rozwoju w zmiennych warunkach rynkowych, ponieważ analiza modeli zarządzania dostarcza zintegrowaną propozycję działania gotową do wdrożenia.

Znajomość aktualnego etapu rozwoju organizacji w cyklu jej życia jest niezbędne w procesie zarządzania strategicznego. Wiedza ta pomaga osobom decyzyjnym w firmie w planowaniu przyszłych działań oraz podejmowaniu aktywności prewencyjnych. Źródłem niniejszego artykułu były badania empiryczne przeprowadzone przez autorkę samodzielnie w jednej z krakowskich firm consultingowych działających w obszarze Market Access produktów leczniczych. Artykuł przedstawia wyniki badań cyklu życia firmy uzyskanych na podstawie analizy jakościowej i ilościowej. W badaniach tych wykorzystano dwie metody badawcze: studiowania dokumentów źródłowych oraz list kontrolnych. Wykazano, że analizowana organizacja znajduje się w fazie rozwoju określanej jako wzrost, równocześnie obserwuje się znaczący udział cech charakterystycznych dla fazy dojrzałości, co sugeruje konieczność zwrócenia szczególnej uwagi przez zarządzających firmą na czynniki determinujące osiągniecie kolejnej fazy rozwoju.

To effectively and efficiently manage an organization, it is crucial to know at what stage of development it is allocated. Knowledge about the current stage of advancement helps decision-makers in future planning and undertaking preventive activities. The groundwork of this article was empirical research carried out by the author herself in one of the Krakow consulting companies operating in the field of medicinal products Market Access. The article presents the results of the Company life cycle qualitative and quantitative analysis. Two research methods were used: studying source documents and checklists. It has been shown that the Company is currently in the growth stage, while at the same time a significant share of the characteristics of maturity phase was observed. The demonstrated characteristics suggests the need to pay particular attention to the factors determining achievement of the next stage of development.
