Artykuł ukazuje przesłanki oraz proces wyłonienia się w Polsce nowego zawodu pedagogicznego: wychowawcy małego dziecka. Zawód ten pojawił się w polskiej Klasyfikacji zawodów na potrzeby rynku pracy w roku 2014 w związku z tzw. ustawą żłobkową. Jest jednym z nielicznych, dla których opracowano zweryfikowany empirycznie opis standardów kompetencyjnych. W Polsce posiada go jedynie 300 zawodów, w tym tylko pięć, które można określić jako pedagogiczne.

The article shows the premises and a process of emerging a new pedagogical profession in Poland: the educator of a young child. This profession appeared in Polish Classification of Professions and Specialities for the needs of labour market in 2014 in the connection with the discussion on the so-called Nursing Law. Is one the few for which an empirically verified description of competency standards have been developed. In Poland they are only 300 professions with such standards, including only five, which can be described as pedagogical.
