The aim of the article is to assess the changes that have occurred in the size, value and structure of Polish trade in potatoes and their products, as well as the competitiveness of this exchange. OE, TC, MP and CTOT indicators were adopted as a measure of competitiveness. It has been shown that after Poland’s accession to the EU, an increase in the exports of potatoes and their products is visible in terms of both quantity and value. Poland is mainly an exporter of processed products, i.e. frozen potatoes and starch products. The largest changes in the product structure relate to the chips market. During the period under review, Poland increased exports of these products by almost 247% in terms of quantity and by 91.5% in terms of value. However, the number of imported chips increased by as much as 1760% in the analyzed period, while their value by 1450%. Poland has comparative advantages in the case of potatoes and their products, while it shows a lack of these advantages in the case of starch products.
