The work is a contribution to the understanding of the structure and status of Hegel’s dialectic methods. In accordance with other commentators (Cramer, Düssing, Henrich, Horstmann), the author propounds the interpretation of Hegel’s logic as a theory of subjectivity sui generis. In a critical response to an article by H. F. Fulda, the author attempts to demonstrate that Hegel’s use of the term “pure determination of thought” (and similar terms) and their mentalistic interpretation do not imply a psychologisation of Hegel’s logic.

Of all present diseases, the most cancer is metaphorized. The ancient name for the disease is already a metaphor that provides a certain frightening picture and awakens strong emotions. The brilliant essay “Illness as a metaphor” of Susan Sontag and the popular science book “The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer” of Siddhartha Mukherjee provides a compilation of metaphors that relates not only to cancer but also to their treatment and beyond to doctors, scientists and patients. These metaphors are presented from the linguistic point of view in this article and analyzed in terms of the long metaphor research, which is not the case in the two sources.

Our paper outlines an updated picture of the translations from Serbian into Romanian, and also points out the most common concepts belonging to the most notorious translators and the specific particularities of their translation manners. The goal of our research is to identify reference points in the evolution of translations, i.e. from theories to methods and procedures of translation. Thus, we intend to evaluate the contribution of some translators as well as to mention some general aspects that characterize their methodology. Among the aspects that we are going to research are the level of adequacy and representativeness of their translations, and the way in which they apply the functional principle of preserving the information from the original.

I argue that Hume’s and Carnap’s criticism of philosophy (metaphysic) contains a rational core and that this core can be much more sharply formulated as soon as a procedural theory of concepts is applied. Also, a possible solution to the problem can be suggested in a much more definite manner.

In the article the linguistic interpretation of lexemes representing concepts “the good” and “the evil” in the language picture of the world in Russian and Kazakh people has been considered, the national and cultural originality of concrete ethnos have been emphasized. In particular, it has been specified that through moral categories, philosophical, cultural and esthetic concepts of a nationatlity cultural originality of people can be revealed. Purpose: identification of the contents and structure of conceptual opposition “the good – the evil” through the system of their verbal representation means in Russian and Kazakh languages including the analysis of the lexical units representing conceptual opposition “the good – the evil” being the major field for the research. Methods: interpretations of the text, observation, comparison, statistical, component analysis, comparative-historical method. Conclusions: in the suggested work the concept of “good” and “evil” have been considered from two poins of view. On the one hand, they have been seen as mental units showing understanding of words by an individual under the conditions of speech activity. The main concept’s function in this aspect is the replacement function which provides saving time and efforts when perceiving a text. The most important features of the concept in this reference are the degree of its completeness, expansion in comparison with the word meaning; degree of the concept components proximity which are staticized in consciousness of different native speakers in one context. On the other hand, the concept has been considered as a block of collective knowledge (concept) of its national specifics and communication with features of the Russian and Kazakh cultures, history and mentality.

The presented text focuses on the stereotype of Europe in the discourse of the radical Orthodox Church in Russia. A difference between a generally accepted concept and a discursively conditioned stereotype, as understood by W. Lippmann, represents an important methodological aspect. The empirical material was selected from over 70 publications from https://3rim.info/, a religious news aggregator. Its analysis allowed the author to reach the following conclusions: in this discourse, a concept of EUROPE undergoes a significant axio-logical reinterpretation and expansion exceeding the concept profiling, and creating a stereotype characteristic of the studied discourse.

The article is an attempt to analyze the functionality of the verb of visual perception “видеть” in the Russian linguistic world-image. The analysis has been made mainly through the prism of anthropocentrism and it has shown that the usage of the verb “видеть” creates a human being as a thinking, experiencing and social individual. Hence, a strong relation between the concept TO SEE and mental processes, experience and the sphere of human relations has been disclosed.

W niniejszym artykule została podjęta próba analizy funkcjonalności czasownika percepcji wzrokowej видеть w rosyjskim językowym obrazie świata. Analiza przeprowadzona została przede wszystkim przez pryzmat antropocentryzmu i wykazała, że użycie czasownika видеть kreuje człowieka jako jednostkę myślącą, doznającą i socjalną. Tym samym został ujawniony ścisły związek konceptu WIDZIEĆ z procesami mentalnymi, doświadczeniem i sferą kontaktów międzyludzkich.

On the basis of the analysis of the letters of Vladimir Naklajev to his wife, Vola, the author con- cludes that the linguistic forms used in the letters serve the function of conceptualisation of the emo- tions of their author. In fact, they are an example of ego-documents that represent the self-perception and interpretation of a particular political event in Minsk in 2010, through which the Belarussian poet, Vladimir Naklajev, verbalises his personal accounts of himself, events and other people linked with these events in the Belarussian capital. It is worth pinpointing that the language of the letters has a specific emotional climate that changes in accordance with events, situations and people, to which their author refers. The properties of the linguistic code of the letters allow to understand them as texts that symbolise the personal senses of their author.

This article is devoted to the tendencies in the semantics of words скандалand skandal and the derivation with the help of the -gate suffixoid in the modern Russian and Polish mass media discourse being the main environment for the emergence and spreading of scandals. The modern scandal becomes an attention attracting strategy. As a result, new semantic features and a positive connotation appear in the semantics of the words скандал and skandal. The -gate suffixoid is used to derive the terms that may suggest unethical behaviour and a cover-up of scandal, particularly in politics and government.

A special role in the representation of abstract concepts belongs to the metaphor. The concept “life” in Russian and Polish languages is objectified through metaphors of perception. Metaphorically life is described through signs of color, taste, smell, tactile characteristics. The metaphors of perception, which are used as a means of representation of these concepts, are a way of expressing an emotional assessment. The similarity of a large number of metaphorical models in Russian and Polish languages says about stereotype representation by the speakers of both languages such abstract form as life.

Metaphorisation is the basis of poetic language. The main basis of poet’s creative process is intuitive thinking. This paper is devoted to the cognitive analysis of the Inna Lisnianskaya’s cycle, due to its excessively developed concepts of sleep and dream. In the fourteen sonnets, linked together by composition and plot, the poet creates an image of a timeless reality of dreams which is composed of mythical, biblical, historical and biographical elements. Since learning is mainly based on finding similarities, Lisnianskaya combines the concepts of water, waves, sea, chaos, the ark, wine, love, life and death and builds a dreamlike world in which lyrical characters are able to handle the matters interrupted by their separation.

The article surveys the concepts of ‘freedom’ (“svoboda”) in contemporary Russian poetry and points out that there is no single understanding of it but a whole complex of approaches. While the concept of “svoboda” seems to have been absorbed by the bigger and therefore less concrete one, “volya”, a certain evolution of the former notion can be observed as well. At the beginning of the 20th century ‘freedom’ was associated with a heroic attitude, during the Thaw it became a term for a collective domestic separation, after perestroika and glasnost the poets started to look for freedom as individuals, having nothing or very little in common with the society. Over the last years a new kind of inner emigration has been evolving, combined with a tendency towards ostentatious indifference to ‘traditional’ values.

In this article, the image of Russian Orthodox woman is reconstructed. Based on the thoughts of Renata Grzegorczykowa, who looks for causes of failure in the definition of religious language in the specifics of the religious life − which, in her opinion, cannot be clearly and decisively separated from the secular activities – the author postulates an extension of studies on the sacred language in the categories of the linguistic view of the world, i.e. the point of view and perspective in the understanding of Jerzy Bartminski. Acceptance of a particular point of view affects the choice of the content and the form of the concepts presented. The analysis of the concept of a woman is carried out using the material from the Orthodox bi-monthly magazine “Славянка”. The reconstructed image consists of two primary facets: mental features and relationships with family members, as well as four secondary ones: professional activity, education, social activity and appearance. The results of the analyses show that this is a traditional image – a woman is seen as an assistant to her husband, whose task is to support the man in all his activities. The most important value for a woman is the family and its well-being rather than her own aspirations.

The article emphasizes the need to clarify the concepts of «integration» and «inclusion» considering their complexity and diversity. The essence of these concepts is defined. It has been found out that the most commonly used is determination of educational integration as a process and result of creating opportunities for students with learning impairments in regular secondary schools. It is shown that the concepts of «integration» and «inclusion» have both common and distinctive features. Different positions of scientists as for determining the correlation of the defined concepts are considered. Three main approaches to solving the definite problem are separated. It has been shown that the inclusion is seen as a wider process of integration which involves raising the level of access to education for all citizens through the creation of appropriate conditions to meet the diverse educational needs of all students at educational institutions of common type. It has been revealed that another position of scientists is related to understanding the inclusion as a stage in the development of education. The «integration» is indicated to involve joint training of healthy children and children with special needs, with the latter have to adapt to constant conditions established at the institution, while «inclusion» means a significant reorganization of the educational system to meet the needs of all students without exception. It has been established that the third position of researchers on correlation between «integration» and «inclusion» refers to understanding inclusion as a particular case of integration. Inclusion is correlated with full integration. Among the arguments over the legitimacy of the identification of the concepts explored is mismatch of the phrase «full integration» to the essence of the concept of «inclusion». It has been concluded that each of the reviewed scientific positions on the problem of the nature and interrelation of the concepts of «integration» and «inclusion» has its merit. The basis of differences between them is in different understanding of the term «integration». The most convincing opinion is recognized to be the one on understanding of integration and inclusion as two appropriate stages of education with both similarities and differences.

The article examines the way the concept of youth was formed in historical and comparative perspective (based on the Russian and Chinese languages). Particular attention is paid to the means of expression of the given concept which holds a special place among mental constructions connected with the reflection of the idea of human age division in the language picture of the world based on the diametrically different cultures.

The article refers to a dictionary list composed by Otto Gradenwitz and his team at the beginning of the twentieth century. The main topic of discussion is determinative compound nouns, one of the most productive types of compounds in the German legal language. The author analyzes the metaphor-like compounds with respect to their potential, real, and contextual meaning. He attempts to answer the question about the role of the compositionality rule in determining the meaning of the aforementioned compounds, and the role of the pragmatic knowledge resulting from its use in a specific context.

Organising football matches in Poland is currently a very important issue for the institutions and services responsible for security. The author, on the basis of his professional and scientific experience, has presented a concept of safety in this area. The article analyses in detail the organisational and legal solutions in force in Poland and selected European countries and assesses their effectiveness. The proposed concept provides for the development of organisational and functional requirements that would increase the level of safety during this type of sports events. Implementing the proposed solutions into the current law would enable a harmonised security system to be organised.

101th Session of the International Labour conference in June 2012 adopted new Recommendation concerning national floors of social protection. The paper explains reasons which led to adoption of this recommendation, whose main intention is to secure protection to all those who in developing countries have no protection now – and in the first instance to the poorest. Contents of the recommendation are presented focussing on the points where initial positions of government, employers and workers delegates differed and where concessions and compromises were necessary. It is also discussed how the new recommendation relates to existing ILO social security conventions, and in particular to Minimum Standards (Social Security) Convention no 102. In conclusions, main challenges to the implementation of the Recommendation in developing countries are pointed out, as well as its potential relevance in developing, including European, countries.

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the academic discussion on the proper understanding of the notions of responsibility and innovation. In recent years, the field of Responsible Research and Innovation has grown rapidly among academia and received considerable attention. One area of focus concerns the proper understanding of the notion of the terms themselves. They are especially problematic in light of the critique that the subject has already received (cf. Blok, Lemmens 2015). This article provides an answer to that critique and proposes an alternative approach to the notions discussed. On the one hand, it outlines the so called ambivalued notion of innovation (cf. Kawalec 2015) and on the other, it presents a four-point characteristic of responsibility relevant to the field of research and innovation. In the text, the term responsibility should be understood as collective, future-oriented, socio-political, and values-oriented.
