Background: A trend to create groups of enterprises can be observed; whose model of operation makes use of assets of large, small and medium sized companies. It is a higher level of organisational changes. This trend is described as network organisation. It is based on the so called supply chain. The Authors of this paper proposed authors' analysis dynamic configuration of the supply chain and presents an example. The supply chain is a metastructure. It is an intermediate form between a single enterprise (microstructure/microsystem) and the global economy (macrostructure/macrosystem). The metastructure is characterized by a dynamic holarchy of mutually cooperating holons (enterprises). Methods: After a brief discussion of the nature of supply chain (metrastructure) and configuration of metastructures, authors present variable supply chains in the light of morphological analysis and presents an example. Results: The key benefits of this approach are: identifying the characteristics of a supply network and modeling the flow in the entire own supply chain metastructure and possible quick adaptations to new situations. Conclusions: Configuration of a supply chain with the use of a morphological analysis is a basic action, if its goal is to optimally model the flow of goods and implementation of quick adaptation to new situations.

The article presents results of empirical research concerning the directions of changes in organizational structures of SME which have occurred during the last few years. The research was carried out in a group of 380 enterprises running their businesses in Poland. The organizational structure generally described in respect of parameters such as centralization, formalization, standardization and configuration. The main part of this article is dedicated to changes that have occurred in organizational structures of SME.

This paper examines the liberalisation and the regional air network configuration from Nigeria to other West African regions. It aims to study the impacts of liberalisation on the regional spatial structure of air networks from Nigeria to West Africa in the pre and post-liberalisation. The pre-liberalisation covers between 1988-2000, and the post-liberalisation ranges from 2001 to 2018. The methodology involves using the graph theory to calculate the route and the network topology in the pre and post-liberalisation and compare the resulting index. This hypothesis was tested using the alpha index. The alpha index analysis compares the level of connection in a pre-and post-liberalisation network via graphical depictions of each period’s route and network structure and the resulting alpha index. The pre-liberalisation alpha index for the route and network was 0.297, while the post-liberalisation alpha index was 0.334. The alpha index ranged from 0 to 1 and was the perfect network for the post‐liberalisation period. In post-liberalisation, the alpha index of the route and network are higher than in pre-liberalisation. Hence, the connection is better in post-liberalisation.

Configurational asymmetry in vernier offset detection

EN
Two psychophysical experiments were conducted at the horizontal and vertical orientations respectively, demonstrating substantial main effect of configuration, but no effect of offset direction on vernier acuity. In Experiment 1, a pair of horizontal bars were arranged side by side with a large gap between them. The observers were, on average, significantly better at discriminating a vertical offset if the right-hand bar was below the left-hand bar than vice versa, regardless of which bar they experienced as displaced and which as constant. A similar asymmetry was evident in Experiment 2 where observers judged horizontal offset for a pair of vertically oriented bars, where one was placed above the other. In this case average performance was better if the upper bar was on the right of the lower bar rather than on its left. There were large individual variations in the asymmetrical trend, but the effect could not be explained by subjective response bias. Furthermore, vernier acuity improved significantly and the asymmetry decreased more or less as a function of training. The average asymmetrical trend was consistent across training days and across two orientations, which indicates that the processing of line vernier stimuli is possibly configuration-specific in the cardinal orientation.

This paper is devoted to the Stoic concept of ἐκπύρωσις – the conflagration of universe, its development, its position in the Stoic physical system and related ideas such as ἀποκατάστασις (the reconstruction of universe) as well as the Stoic idea of deity. Also, it addresses the issue of mythological and philosophical sources of the concept in question and presents several examples of its influence.

W badaniach empirycznych zastosowano kwestionariusz wywiadu skierowany do właścicieli i naczelnego kierownictwa przedsiębiorstw.

The aim of the study is to show the changes taking place in the structure of value chains of manufacturing enterpises under the influence of changes in the macro and microenvironment. This paper contains a theoretical part, which presents the concept of the value chain, the basic elements making up the structure and the key factors for its construction. Furthermore, the articla has a practical value, it presents fragments of empirical results conducted among 208 manufacturing companies operating in ten sectors. In empirical studies we used a questionnaire adressed to owners and top management of companies. The obtained results of the research allowed to determine: how the complexity and variability of the environment influence the changes in the proces of primary and secondary, and to identify the types of undertaken activities, so that companies can achieve the main goal put the execution at a specific shaping its internal value chain.
