Zmiany w strukturze handlu detalicznego ujawniają się w dłuższych okresach i wywierają na nie wpływ czynniki bliskiego i dalszego otoczenia, spośród których preferencje i oczekiwania konsumentów dotyczące miejsc i warunków zakupu mają ważki udział. W artykule podjęto próbę zidentyfikowania zmian, które zachodzą w strukturze handlu detalicznego z punktu widzenia ich zgodności z preferencjami i oczekiwaniami konsumentów. Analizą objęto handel stacjonarny i e-handel, oferujące artykuły codziennego zapotrzebowania, określane często w literaturze przedmiotu jako fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). Przedmiotem analizy są konsumencka ocena poszczególnych form handlu i preferowane miejsca zakupu FMCG oraz zmiany zachodzące w tym zakresie.

Changes in the retail trade structure reveal themselves in longer time-periods and are affected by factors of the near and further environment, among which consumers’ preferences and expectations related to places and conditions of purchasing have their important share. In her article, the author undertook an attempt to identify the changes occurring in the retail trade structure from the point of view of their conformity with the consumers’ preferences and expectations. An analysis comprised stationary trade and e-commerce offering goods of daily use, often described in the subject literature as fast moving consumer goods (FMCG). The subject of analysis is consumer’s assessment of individual forms of trade and the preferred places of purchases of FMCG as well as the changes occurring in this respect.
