Celem artykułu jest próba przybliżenia procesu tworzenia organizacji wirtualnych przez współczesne przedsiębiorstwa. Organizacja wirtualna traktowana jest tutaj jako specyficzna forma organizowania współpracy niezależnych przedsiębiorstw we współczesnym świecie biznesu. Teoretyczne podstawy publikacji stanowią rozważania na temat istoty organizacji wirtualnej, jej charakterystyki oraz procesu kreowania organizacji wirtualnych. Przy czym analizy procesu tworzenia organizacji wirtualnych dokonano wzdłuż cyklu ich życia. Analizując poszczególne etapy cyklu życia organizacji wirtualnej zaprezentowano postępowanie przedsiębiorstw od momentu odkrycia okazji rynkowej i poszukiwania partnerów do wspólnej realizacji przedsięwzięcia aż po finał owej współpracy i rozwiązanie organizacji wirtualnej. Część praktyczna artykułu oparta jest o wyniki badań naukowych, które pozwoliły na empiryczną weryfikację rozważań teoretycznych. Badaniem objęto przedsiębiorstwa sektora MSP realizujące swoją działalność na terenie Polski, wyłonione do badań za pomocą trzech prestiżowych rankingów. Zastosowano dwie metody zbierania danych: wywiad telefoniczny i wywiad osobisty. Na podstawie studiów literaturowych stworzono listę pytań korespondujących z elementami cyklu życia organizacji wirtualnej. Respondentów zapytano o sposoby ich postępowania na każdym etapie życia takiej organizacji. Uzyskane zatem w ramach badań wyniki przybliżyły proces tworzenia organizacji wirtualnych we współczesnym świecie biznesu.

This article attempts to approximate the process of creating virtual organizations by modern companies. A virtual organization is seen here as a specific form of organizing cooperation among independent companies in the contemporary business world. The theoretical basis of the publication is therefore a reflection on the essence of a virtual organization, its characteristics and the process of creating virtual organizations. The analysis of the process of creating virtual organizations made along their life cycle. This analysis shows the behavior of companies from the discovery of a market opportunity to the final solution of collaboration and virtual organization. So shows the proceedings at every stage of the life cycle of virtual organization. The practical part of the article is based on the results of research which allowed conducting an empirical verification of the theoretical considerations. The research covered small and medium-sized companies operating within the territory of the Republic of Poland. The companies were selected by three prestigious rankings. The data collection methods applied were a telephone interview and personal interview. Based on literature studies created a list of questions corresponding to the elements of the life cycle of virtual organization. Respondents participating in the research were asked to determine their behavior over the life cycle of such an organization. The results of the research have provided a lot of interesting information and introduced to the process of creating virtual organization in the contemporary business world.

Virtual organization is the most effective and flexible form of running economic activity. Arising such organization is connected with logistics, whose tasks is to increase efficiency of companies and acceleration their reaction to market’s requirements. Virtual organization is created by different economic units, which are connected with network of relations. This kind of network can be presented as logistic chain or supplies chain. Logistics in virtual organization lead to reduction decision’s and distribution’s chains.
