Contrary to subsequent studies focused on the construction of corporate identity, this article aims to examine the stakeholder’s perception of corporate identity projected to the public through language and visual manifestations on corporate “About us” pages. A qualitative, data-driven approach has been taken in the study. The results, based on data collected from in-depth, semi-structured interviews with twenty professionals, demonstrate the interviewees’ deep scepticism towards corporate narrations, which are interpreted as persuasive and serving corporate ends. Thus, online projections of corporate identities do always match actual images held by stakeholders. The interviewees have emerged as critical readers of corporate communications and active constructors of corporate image.

The purpose of this article is to analyse the issue of paradox in crisis situations from the standpoint of communication and in the context of the corporate identity. The research shows that the dynamics of corporate identity is similar to the dynamics of the crisis situations. The empirical studies on corporate identity reveal that the categorisation strategies that operate exclusively at the level of identity structure and which regard the reaction to the threat to the corporate identity, used by the company members, indicate that the selective categorisation prioritises the attributes that are different from those prone to threats: e.g. when certain corporate identity attributes are depreciated. The research used in this work was carried out on secondary sources . Moreover, the author of this article has used the method of participant observation of expert, i.e. herself, who has spent years on dealing with the issues of corporate identity and public relations.

Image is one of key elements which determines whether contemporary market entities achieve a competitive advantage. This is also true in case of universities which compete with each other – mainly to attract students. The image of a university in its environment is to a large extent determined by consistent application of the system of visual identity, which includes recommendations concerning the functioning of an organization in the sphere of markers (symbolism). The basic goal of this article is to define the factors conditioning the efficient utilization of such systems by universities. Exemplification of the process of planning and implementing solutions from the area of visual identity was carried out on the basis of Rzeszow University of Technology. Reference was also made to the effects of functioning of the system of visual identity of the university from Podkarpacie region through the investigation of the students’ awareness of the existence of a standardized structure of markers and the perception of current utilization of its elements. In the supplement a division of universities in Poland, according to the scope of held systems of visual identity was carried out.

One of the basic aims of all companies doing business in the present market environment is to distinguish themselves from their competition. The basic way how to do it is to create a unique corporate identity, i.e. a functioning mixture of corporate culture, design, product and corporate communication. The research article deals with the issue of corporate communication as one of the basic attributes of corporate identity. The text’s objective is to bring new information about corporate comunication of Milka chocolate, as well as to determine Slovak respondents’ opinions on the level of external communication of Milka and the possible ways ofimproving it. The research methodology included a questionnaire survey conducted in the electronic form, which was shared through social media (the research sample involved 1,518 respondents from all regions of the Slovak Republic) and testing of a smaller number of respondents via the emWave PC system (the tested group consisted of 20 participants who were randomly selected from the previous research sample). As we were interested in conducting a deeper analysis of the obtained results, four assumptions and eight hypotheses were formulated and then tested using Pearson’s chi-square test, Cramer’s contingency coefficient and Phi coefficient. As the results of the research show, the Slovak respondents perceive Milka’s corporate communication quite positively – almost 76% of the surveyed respondents claim that they consider it to be interesting and unobtrusive; more than 49% and almost 40% of the respondents say that they think Milka’s promotion is adequate and good enough, respectively; more than 60% of them see Milka’s advertisements as attractive and almost 55% of the participants think that Milka-related advertising is able to motivate the potential buyers to purchase these products.

This paper investigates how old Dutch firms display their corporate identity on the Internet, with special attention paid to location and place. Several scholars argue that the Internet would create the ‘end-of-geography’. Current empirical investigation found that incumbent firms display a strong sense-of-place in the presentation of ‘self’ on their websites. Location is important for old firms' images, underlining the importance of embeddedness. Location remains important when firms compete on the ‘global level’ on the Internet. This paper therefore contributes to the understanding of place and local embeddedness of firms in the ‘global internet space’.

The paper is focused on some structural paradoxes touching the functioning of the PR activity in companies called „PSFC” (this abbreviation means: the Polish Subsidiary of Foreign Corporation). Because of its dualistic contexts and difficulties with its own identity deeply divided into two different aspects, the PFZK’s communication and its public image tend to suffer from the incoherence and inconsistence. The solution proposed for this issue may consist on the special structure observed in some happy achievements. It is built with two simultaneous approaches: ethical and praxeological using both the idea of “good” as “morally convenient” and “profitable”.

The progressive development of marketing communication, which can also be characterised by a significant rise of the groundswell concept, has brought about the need to modify the well-established concepts and processes not only in this field of science, but also in seemingly unrelated areas, in particular collective labour relations. The traditionalist approach based on the “revolutionary trade union movement” concept favoured by special purpose civic associations (trade unions) for decades is losing its relevance. Trade unions are no longer able to attract and speak to potential trade union members – employees. The concept of “groundswell” is beginning to dominate the internal environment of employers as employees get ‘guaranteed’ information on the activities of trade unions or the very internal environment of the employer from social networks, internal software applications of the employer or its intranet (this information is questionable, if not outright misleading). Special purpose civic associations are looking for new ways to communicate with potential and current members, as they have to take into account national and European labour law, personal data protection legislation and various legal frameworks governing confidentiality duties, internal regulations governing internal communication and their own corporate identity. Based on their experience, the authors analyse the above-described trend, define possible legal and social restrictions, and outline possible solutions while respecting the nature of the special purpose civic association. The study is unique as it offers an insight into the conservative and (still) inaccessible (for nonmembers) environment of internal communication of trade unions (communication with members and potential members) based on objective interdisciplinary research combining legal science and marketing communication. The objective of the study is not to present an exhaustive overview of the issue, but to introduce new possibilities for the research in areas (where marketing plays an important role) that have so far gone unnoticed by marketing communication researchers.

The recently observed intensification of corporate communication activities aimed at building a human and socially responsible image of the business coupled with thequestions about the real motivations of companies to get involved in such activities, becomes a good opportunity for the in-depth analysis of CSR practices of Polish companies. As such communication process becomes reliable only when it is based on the accurate perception and exchange of interpretations of the surrounding reality between the stakeholders and the company. For this reason the presented project develops from the sensemaking perspective in organization studies. The sensemaking process with its corporate identity analysis and its alleged influence on the communication strategies seems not unimportant for the corporate decisions about the particular CSR activities. The presented text, which is a part of a habilitation research grant (no NN115551338) uses a sample of 150 biggest Polish enterprises to test the hypotheses about potential relation between corporate identity expressed in the mission statements, the aspects of stakeholder communication strategies and a type of CSR activities, Polish companies engage in.

The article addresses the phenomenon of corporate language and the transfer of its semantic-lexical strategies, such as company-specific technical terms, from German into Polish based on customer communication texts of an automotive company. The concept of corporate language has evolved from normative-practical concepts, such as corporate wording, to linguistically-based models, such as corporate style. A corporate language is a single language phenomenon, however, in international corporate communication corporate text translation plays an important role, and attention must also be paid to the company-specific language style that sets the company apart from competitors in the same industry. A corporate language comes into play especially in external communications. This article investigates examples of external communications, specifically customer magazine texts. It also addresses the links between linguistic style and corporate identity, which must be given linguistic expression in the target texts.

This paper argues that for organizations with a branded identity structure investing in corporate reputation is not a waste of scarce resources, but a wise strategic investment that earns significant present and future economic and non-economic returns for a company. In the global market of the 21st century, corporate reputation provides a number of intangible benefits: it permits stakeholders to asses a firm's ability to deliver valued products; it indicates past interactions with a firm's stakeholders; it improves a firm's ability to recruit and preserve its primary stakeholders; along with delivering tangible (financial) benefits by enhancing a firm's ability to do better than its competitors, thus expanding its profits and revenues. These tangible and intangible benefits of favorable corporate reputation are present regardless of the brand architecture type, such that strategic investment in corporate reputation must be executed equally for all three categories of brand architecture.

In this article an attempt has been made to describe the activity of three significant figures in the history of Church: St. Paul of Tarsus, John Paul II and pope Francis as regards the relationships they try to establish with their environment. The inspiration for this work have been the propositions expressed in the exhortation of the present pope Evangelii gaudium and the references to the two abovementioned figures in this text. The need for the two areas to coexist – mass media and the Church – in fulfilling the mission was noticed some time ago, but nowadays, in the era of the modern media and fast technological transformations this need is realized in the operational dimension, also in the area of public relations. Reaching for the available tools and the way these tools are used on the grounds of evangelism are the basis for the main proposal of this article that each time in case of the abovementioned figures we are faced with the creative process of “Gospel inculturation”, and measurable outcomes of this activity are a component of knowledge, sensitivity, motivation and charisma of the spiritual leaders of the Church.
