This paper is an attempt to cover the most important aspects of sermons in The Trilogy by Henryk Sienkiewicz. Significant seems to be the role of clerics, who had undertaken important missions in Rzeczpospolita of XVIIth Century: in times of war struggles, clerics become doyens in political issues, emphasizing the strenght of love and faith in human’s life at the same time. The article shows the craftsmanship and vividness of sermons, which fulfill the specifications of rhetoric. We should pay special attention to baroque eulogies, that become a part of sannatian festival of Death perfectly reconstructed by Sienkiewicz.
