The goal of the study was to verify the awareness of the level of cyberbullying and threat related to it by teenagers and their parents. The research was carried out among grammar school students and their parents by means of the author’s questionnaire. It was established that the level of awareness of cyberbullying is higher among children than among their parents. Moreover, more than half of the pupil respondents revealed they had been its victims while one third – its culprits. The level of insecurity related to cyberbullying also revealed to be higher among the young people than among their parents. The largest difference was observed in relation to identity theft and unflattering comments. Statistically significant differences were also related to such forms of cyberbullying as: harassment through frequent phone calls, creating websites in order to ridicule and humiliate another person.

Przeprowadzone badania miały na celu sprawdzenie uświadamiania sobie skali cyberprzemocy i poczucia zagrożenia z jej strony przez rodziców i nastolatków. W tym celu zbadano gimnazjalistów oraz ich rodziców za pomocą autorskiego kwestionariusza. Ustalono, że poziom uświadamiania sobie skali zjawiska cyberprzemocy jest wyższy u nastolatków niż u rodziców. Ponad połowa uczniów ujawniła, że byli ofiarami cyberprzemocy, a jedna trzecia – jej sprawcami. Poziom poczucia zagrożenia cyberprzemocą okazał się również wyższy u młodzieży niż u rodziców. Największą różnicę zaobserwowano w odniesieniu do kradzieży tożsamości i niepochlebnych komentarzy, nękania przez częste telefony, zakładanie stron internetowych w celu ośmieszenia i upokorzenia drugiej osoby.

Zapewnienie dziecku bezpieczeństwa w sieci to jedno z ważniejszych wyzwań współczesnego świata XXI w., tym bardziej że dostęp do internetu nie ogranicza się tylko i wyłącznie do komputera stacjonarnego, ale dotyczy również wielu urządzeń mobilnych. Przeprowadzone postępowanie badawcze miało na celu ukazanie zasadności edukowania studentów kierunków pedagogicznych w zakresie identyfikowania zagrożeń, w tym cyberprzemocy, które bezpośrednio wiążą się z korzystaniem z nowoczesnych technologii. Próbę badawczą stanowiła grupa 78 studentów II roku pedagogiki o specjalności edukacja wczesnoszkolna i wychowanie przedszkolne na Wydziale Pedagogiki i Psychologii Uniwersytetu Śląskiego w Katowicach, przebadana za pomocą anonimowych kwestionariuszy ankiet.

Providing a child with safety on the Internet is one of the most important challenges of contemporary world of the 21st century. Even more so, considering that the access to the internet is possible not only by means of a computer but also applies to many mobile devices. The conducted research was aimed at demonstrating the legitimacy of educating students of pedagogy courses in the scope of identification of threats, including cyber violence, which are directly connected with the use of modern technologies. The study sample was made up of 78 students of the second year of Pedagogy with early-school education specialization and kindergarten education at the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at the University of Silesia in Katowice, surveyed by means of anon-ymous questionnaires.
