Celem rozważań jest przedstawienie teoretycznego, długookresowego modelu turystyki zrównoważonej, który spełniałby warunki: kompletności, uniwersalności, jednoznaczności i prostoty. Podstawą konstrukcji modelu było przyjęcie, m.in. na podstawie studiów literaturowych, kilku głównych założeń oddających istotę turystyki zrównoważonej. Sam model został zaś zbudowany przy wykorzystaniu metody wnioskowania dedukcyjnego z przyjętych założeń. Do jego prezentacji zastosowano graficzny obraz funkcji matematycznej oraz zapis formalny. Artykuł składa się z trzech części. W pierwszej, mającej charakter wprowadzający, przedstawiono w skróconej formie, przegląd głównych koncepcji turystyki zrównoważonej. W drugiej części zaprezentowano, wybrane z literatury przedmiotu, próby oddania istoty turystyki zrównoważonej przy wykorzystania ujęcia modelowego. Z kolei trzecia, zasadnicza część artykułu zawiera proponowany teoretyczny, długookresowy model turystyki zrównoważonej. Obejmuje ona w szczególności graficzną formę modelu, a także opis: celów budowy modelu, jego głównych założeń, zastosowanych zmiennych, modelowych warunków równowagi i jej zakłóceń, prezentację czynników oddziaływują-cych na zmienne niezależne, jak również możliwości oraz ograniczenia wykorzystania modelu.

An aim of deliberations is to present a theoretical long-term model of sustainable tourism that would have met the prerequisites of completeness, universality, explicitness, and simplicity. A ground for construction of the model was an adoption, among other things on the basis of literature studies, of a few basic assumptions showing the essence of sustainable tourism. The very model was built with the use of the method of deductive reasoning on the grounds of adopted assumptions. For its presentation, there were used a graphical picture of the mathematical function and a formal record. The article consists of three parts. In the first one, of the introductory nature, there are presented, in an abbreviated form, a review of the main concepts of sustainable tourism. In the second part, there are presented, selected from the subject literature, attempts to convey the essence of sustainable tourism with the use of the model approach. In turn, the third, the essential part of the article, includes the proposed theoretical long-term model of sustainable tourism. It comprises, in particular, a graphical form of the model as well as a description of the objectives of model construction, its main assumptions, applied variables, model terms of equilibrium and disturbances thereof, presentation of the factors affecting independent variables as well as the opportunities and constraints of model use.
